During our two stays at the Sofitel we've ordered many coffees at Vera Cafe - and every time the coffee has been perfectly made - rich and flavorful and never bitter or sour.

The pastries at the cafe are also amazing. The croissants are simultaneously rich and buttery and light and flaky. They also make a filled pastry from croissant dough that's a bit denser than the croissants but also a wonderful (large) treat that has a nice crunch and is not overly sweet. (I tried the one with the pistachio filling- picture included). In addition, the cafe serves some small bites (empanadas, sandwiches) and these too were quite fresh and tasty.

Vera Cafe also offers a coffee tasting experience which was stellar. Lucia hosted the tasting and she was an amazing wealth of knowledge about all aspects of the coffee industry and coffee consumption. She spent an hour with us!

We tried the Sofitel custom blend (made by Santos coffee) in a French press and a Santos geisha bean in a pour over. The coffees had very different flavors and bodies but each was delightful in its own way; and each was brewed to perfection to showcase the best of each bean - thanks to Lucia's knowledge and skill. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves coffee. (Note - it does have to be organized...

Excellent coffee and service. It's expensive, but not because they overcharge. The geisha beans are just expensive in general. The same beans for a pour over costs the same all around this neighborhood. The baristas are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient / passionate to show the process of brewing coffee. Jesus and Roberto...

The place is beautiful and deserts are delicious, but service is the worst, level “Fonda”. Also we don’t like plastic cutlery and paper cups for coffee. Looks like some people did a really good job to build this beauty but actual management is not capable to maintain the high level and provide very poor service....

Worst Cappuccino experience ever! If a picture says more than 100 words. If you want to ruin your breakfast take your 5-Dollar-“Cappuccino” in this place.

Very expensive but worth it, the pastries are so good. I wish the beverages weren't served in cardboard cups, it ruins the presentation.
