After being approached by 100 vendors to eat at their stall, I chose Ceviche loco because the price seemed the fairest and honest for Langosto. I really wanted to try the Langosto in Panama but I couldn’t eat a whole lobster which many stalls were charging $35-40 for which is about NYC/SF prices based on a 1.5 pound lobster. So there’s no deal here if your looking for a discounted price. It’s a complete tourist trap type of destination but slightly better than tourist trap quality. Most tourist traps have high prices and low quality but I think the quality is good.
Ceviche loco charges $21 for their lobster tail and it comes with a small side salad and fried plantains. I also ordered the langostinos and It was $14. The tiny cevice cup was complimentary and most stalls offer it as well but I didn’t like the taste of this ceviche. Add the bottle of water, tax, 10% tip and the total came to about $40.50.
The market and the food stalls around the corner from the pier was convenient but I think these places in general are just one time visits that you do as a tourist.
The lobster tail (Langosto) in garlic sauce was good. The shrimps (langostino or gambas) was also good. The plantains were also good.
If you don’t know which stall to choose, I would...
Read moreDon’t fall for the trap. From the start, they lure you in with promises of quality and special attention. They claim to be the restaurant to visit, offering exceptional food and house specials. But it’s all just misleading marketing.
We ordered the “best house ceviche,” recommended as generous and perfect for two at $10. The reality? Small, basic, and lacking variety. The piña colada, which wasn’t even on the menu, ended up costing $9 and was terrible.
The service changed completely once we were served. Getting the check was a challenge, none of the promised promotions applied because we “didn’t order a main dish,” and to top it all off, they charged a 10% service fee...
Read moreWay overpriced. The young guy was very dishonest. The price we agreed upon was not honored. Ignored repeat request to bring the bill, then shows up aggressive and makes up his own price with no bill or itemization, and put on a Golden Globe performance about not remembering our price and produce exchange agreement he made in order to entice me to select this place among the many other ceviche locations there. Worse value food I had on the trip. Spent over $20 and...
