From the 5th on the 6th of May I stayed in this hotel in Mariflores in Lima, it was my starting point for my Peruvian Holiday. |Not really a 4* hotel more 3.5.||The numbers:|-Price/Quality: 3.5* of 5|-Price: $$$$ of $$$$$|-Quality: 3 of 5|-Service at Reception: 4* of 5|-Service Overall: 3.5 of 5|-Services: 5** (see below offers)|-Wheelchair Accessible: 3.5 of 5||Tips: do not preorder the hotel taxi as it was priced at 45US$ and I paid a taxi service at the airport (Taxi green) 60P-Sol ( 18$) the airport express bus is much cheaper 8$ but didn’t run service until 7am and I landed at 4:30am and was out the airport around 5:00am... if you want oder an Uber it’s about 13$ ~40Sol. DO NOT take local taxis as they look scabby and rundown and will rip you off by driving the wrong long routes. I used Uber to the airport for my domestic onward flight which was super and pleasant. ||I stayed in room 609 on the 6th floor, the view was on an abandoned old casino which didn’t bring much pleasure. Only kept the curtains half open (they open and close electrically). The room smelled a bit musty and old, every time you entered the room. ||The Bed: looked very comfortable and big, didn’t make me sleep very well though it was quite hard where it needed to be soft and vv. The pillows weren’t all that comfortable yet again I didn’t ask for others. Also I woke up around 3 times due to noises, the walls seem paper thin, I could hear a mobile phone and walking in the corridors and the maids in the early morning, eventually I got up at 6:30am as I couldn’t sleep anymore. ||The Room: had 2 chairs, a desk, flatscreen, much closet space and a carpet which probably gave off the moldy smell. The AC was blasting out cold air at every temperature haha. It was manageable with varying the airflow speed. ||The Bathroom: there were plenty amenities; 2 shower gel, 2 shampoo, 2 body lotion, 2 soaps, blow dryer and plenty towels. The shower had an okay pressure however run out of hot water after 6-7min of showering. The bath could be made into a hot tub which I didn’t use as I went to swim and used the hotels sauna facilities afterwards. ||The hotel offers a full breakfast, which was elaborate, it had a coffee tea drinks section with cereals and a separate add-on bar for the cereals with nuts seeds and yogurts and some fruits. |Separate to that there was a bigger fruits and salad section with also a hot section with scrambled eggs and local dishes and local desserts. It was a good selection it just all looked a bit untidy. The taste was good. ||The hotel offers a pool which is small but as I was alone it offered good opportunity to do many laps and relax. The sauna was operated especially for me and the steam room was with 90C terribly hot, I could stay in 2x10min due to being the first one thereafter it was quite unbearable. The dry sauna was with 85C very pleasant and relaxing, cold showers were offered as well. All in all very nice and relaxing. ||The location in Miraflores is good and convenient. Walking distance to Plaza Kennedy and Boulevard Larco. I think one could also walk to Lacomar...
Read moreArrived late at night, as flights from the US are wont to do. Check in was quick and easy.||The room was incredible. Pleasantly surprised that the jacuzzi was in our bathtub and not upstairs in the pool. Bed was firm but with just enough give for comfortable sleep. Plenty of storage space in the wardrobe.|Balcony was a surprise. Didn't think any were left by the time we got there. Really cute set up too: table, chairs and an umbrella. Couldn't really enjoy the view due to the wall, though.||The fitness center is accessible through the pool. The equipment wasn't maintained well and showed its age. All the equipment was dirty. Some of it was rusty. Others were inoperable.|The sauna facilities, every time we went by, appeared abandoned. No dedicated staff at the desk or even any lights on. There was a video game cabinet on the same floor, also off. We were informed it was out of order.||Loved the breakfast buffet. Bread, fruit, coffee, tea, fruit juice, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bacon and pancakes. They even changed up the featured dessert and had either bread pudding or pound cake.||Location was amazing. Not only was there plenty of shopping and eating on Larco Ave just one block away, but plenty of buses stop on the same and the metro (express bus) stops three blocks away at Ricardo Palma station. And if all you need is a calm green space with a few feral cats to pet/play with, the nearby June 7th/Kennedy parks have you covered.||Did not try the karaoke bar or the pool. The karaoke space could work on its sound baffling/insulation as it can be heard on the 3rd floor, where I was sleeping. Not a good arrangement if you're a light sleeper.||All in all, I really enjoyed staying here. The Inkari is a really pretty hotel. While I wouldn't call it a luxury hotel, I'd definitely call it a high end boutique hotel. Keep your expectations at that level and you'll have a great...
Read moreThis is a really nice hotel but one thing put me off the place.... we arrived at the hotel having got a taxi from Lima airport...the city of Lima is a massive place with 11 million residents.... apparently...so as you can imagine it has good areas, and not so good areas. This hotel is in one of the good areas...as long as you only walk forward of the hotel not behind... that's what we were told from the reception staff so that's what we did, and we had no problems at all...there are lots of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance and lots of shops to look around as well..the hotel is modern and quite nice...the rooms are quite large and clean, the bed was comfortable, although I thought the bathroom was a bit tired. The hotel has a very good gym and a nice clean indoor swimming pool, the restaurant is more like a canteen really with a bar at the end, although the food was good....the breakfast wasn't that great though..the WiFi was good as well...we put a case in storage there as we went on to Cusco for a few days to see Machu Picchu (which is amazing) and the storage was free...the only thing that really put me off this hotel is it has a smell of stale cigarette smoke in the hallway and in some of the rooms...the first room we were given we changed because of the smell the second was a bit better but not great.... I complained to the reception staff and was told that infact it's not cigarette smoke that I could smell, it was that they pump the smell of cinnamon through the air conditioning system....why you would do that I don't know... cinnamon is a smell that although some people might like a lot, some people don't....I don't.....also I didn't think it smelt like cinnamon at all...like I said I thought it smelt like cigarette smoke.... All in all a nice hotel in a good location just didn't like...
