Best place to eat gelato in the entire city of Lima. It was definitely one of our highlights and it's a hidden gem. The ice cream is freshly made each morning. The flavors are a great mixture of the classics with a lot of fruity flavors that I've never seen before. I tried quite a few: stracciatela (vanilla and chocolate chips) gianduia (chocolate hazelnut), an interesting grape sorbet, a native yellow plum sorbet, watermelon-pineapple, and lucuma. I wanted to have more but that was plenty for just the first time there. I also had a great espresso coffee. They told me to have pastries, which looked so great but I was stuffed. The ice cream is good, but the man who was serving either doesn’t like foreigners or was just in a really bad mood and took it out on me. I was tasting two flavors with him when he suddenly started helping everyone else and left me waiting for at least 5 minutes before I could order. When it was finally my turn, he told me to go pay before serving my ice cream – which was the opposite of what he did with every other customer. He wasn’t a young guy, probably around 45, so I would expect someone with more experience to be a bit more empathetic and professional. I speak advanced Spanish, so communication wasn’t the issue. Staff has no consideration for the health of its clients. Today when I went with my sister, who is celiac, she asked the staff if their ice cream had gluten and was told “all the flavors were gluten-free”. This was a bold-faced lie, since she is now suffering with pain that is only triggered when she accidentally ingests gluten. What kind of service is that? Would they tell someone with a nut allergy that everything was safe to eat regardless of the actual...
