Our disasterious Valentines dinner. When we arrived, they where not aware of our booking. Even tho i had confirmation through their portal at Google. They explained the situation as if we had done something wrong. This created a unwelcoming experience, quite akward to say the least. After they seated us the staff didn't even apologised for this incident. Two menues where presented even before we had taken our seats, we where literally standing. No drink menu or any aperitif was offered.
After numerous back and forth and misunderstanding explaining the menus we finally ordered from their Valentines menu for 5,2k for 2 persons. There was little to non information regarding the dishes.
When the food was served, non of the dishes was presented.
Even some of the components where not served alongside the supposed dishes.
When we ordnered the food we also placed an order for a dish for our daughter (2years old) (Palabok) this was never served, we also didn't pay for this either.
We where twice told to keep our used cutleries, still when the main coursed came we where still given new cutleries, and told to change the .
When we ask to pay, non of the waiters ever asked us if everything was fine, or any feedback, i suspect that they knew they screwed up big time on more or less everything.
FOOD, presented well, the dishes has potential, but lacks innovation and excitement. I would say it is alright.
Final tought, for such a price tag i would for sure expect way more. Especially from the front of house tea.. The food is acceptable. I would not recomend it based on my experience. Hopefully they can pull it together, since the consept has potential.
There is a Andoks with great...

Tucked away in the cool corners of Baguio, Bistro Lokal is where tradition meets creativity on a plate. This cozy, modern Filipino restaurant reimagines local comfort food with a refined twist—and our visit was nothing short of memorable.
We started with their Kare-Kare, a true standout. The peanut sauce was rich and silky, coating the tender meat and fresh vegetables perfectly. It had that familiar homey taste, but with an elevated depth of flavor that hints at careful slow-cooking and kitchen craftsmanship.
Next up was the Pot Roast, which was incredibly satisfying. The meat was fork-tender, soaked in a deeply savory gravy that paired wonderfully with their rice. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite just to savor every element.
To balance the richness, we tried their Lemon Thirst Quench—a refreshingly bright citrus drink that lives up to its name. It was the perfect palate cleanser and companion to the bold flavors on the table.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Ube Crepe. Light, airy, and generously filled with ube goodness, it was the sweet note that tied the whole experience together. Not too heavy, not too sweet—just right.
The ambiance of Bistro Lokal is charming and laid-back, with warm interiors that reflect the local culture without being overbearing. The staff were attentive, friendly, and well-versed in the menu.
Verdict: If you’re in Baguio and looking for a thoughtful take on Filipino cuisine, Bistro Lokal should definitely be on your list. It’s not just a meal—it’s a narrative of local flavors told with...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bistro Lokal in Baguio, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! I visited twice—once in February and again in April. Before my first visit, I had seen several vlogs about this charming restaurant, which made me eager to try it out. I booked a reservation through Google Maps, but we had a bit of trouble finding it with Waze. Upon arrival, there was a small hiccup as they weren't aware of our reservation, but thankfully, it was a weekday and the restaurant wasn't too busy, so we were seated without any issues.
Parking can be a challenge, as it’s located uphill on a curve, but once we settled in, all the struggles faded away. The food was absolutely worth it! We tried several dishes, and everything was superb, especially the sisig and binagoongan. The kare-kare was a bit tough in terms of meat, but the flavor was still fantastic. The palabok was exceptional—so good that we found ourselves craving it while back in Manila!
Our second visit in April was a bit different. We decided to dine in again without a reservation, and luckily, we still managed to get a table. However, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations this time. The sisig was a bit salty, though the other dishes were still enjoyable. We absolutely loved their iced tea, but unfortunately, coffee was unavailable during our visit.
Despite the ups and downs, the service was great, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. I would still highly recommend Bistro Lokal for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Filipino...
