Delightfully bright and airy restaurant that highlights cacao-infused or based dishes and treats. Cash payment. Staff is friendly but service is a bit slow.
A friend and I both stopped here and ordered an affogato coffee - two scoops of vanilla ice cream with a cone in a dish, served with a shot of espresso that is poured over the ice cream.
Presentation was very nice, although the cone seemed superfluous and I just ate it separately at the end. Overall taste was good but milder than I expected. The espresso didn't have any outstanding flavor and the ice cream was not overly sweet. The effect is a creamy and mildly sweet experience that was definitely pleasant.
However the biggest sell of this place (on my limited experience with the menu) was the atmosphere. Located on the upper floor of a small mall, there are some great views overlooking areas of Baguio and where the open windows admit a refreshing breeze year round. Indoors the restaurant is decorated with a plethora of fake greenery and bamboo lighting fixtures. The effect just works.
A good place for a date, a business meeting, or a relaxed experience for no particular reason at all. Service was slower than I would have expected for our two coffees but we didn't...
Read moreThe place is so laidback, or I guess I went there early in the morning on a weekday, so there wasn't many people dining in. I love the atmosphere.
Here's what I ordered: Tsoko mallow ₱190 Pancake souffle bibingka, quezo, itlog na maalat ₱340
The souffle bibingka was divine. Love the combo of the sweetness from the chocolate syrup, maple syrup (or was it honey?), the saltiness of the cheese and salted egg. It all makes sense and I quite like it. It was so indulgingly delicious, I wish I had more.
The tsoko mallow was alright. Big serving, could be good for 2 people. But since I travelled solo, it was too much for me. I had to finish it because I don't like food waste as much as I don't like the term sunk cost. That said, this chocolate drink isn't my favorite. It was a bit bitter for my taste but I managed to finish it up to spite it. I was that bitter. LMAO.
The staff are all nice and smiley and accommodating. I wasn't chatty myself so I appreciated that they didn't talk to me much apart from asking for my order and asking me if everything was alright. And...
Read moreThe issue has been rectified by Sushi. I appreciate the service given by her and her close staff. We've discussed the procedures that were forgotten by the new employees and the burden of having new employees. I hope she continues to give her loyalty to "Mam Happy" and continue giving good welfare to their employees.
Ill be back again with my family and hope certain lapses wont happen again. Thank you!
After all the years, this time I'm very disappointed. As a local in Baguio, yesterday they didn't have their Champorado for both ube and classic cocoa.
Their waiter just showed us a table where we could sit down while I'm with my family. They didn't even bother giving us water while scanning through the menu. To my disappointment, I asked if there was champorado, and they didn't have it. After all the waiting and the long drive, the waiter didn't even show any courtesy or sympathy. He just didn't care. My question for the restaurant is: What happened to your courteous staff and clean toilets?
I'm pretty sure that they weren't...
