Dani, Leslie, and I were staying at the Red Planet inn one weekend. Parking was a pain and we were starving! I already got the best spot and didn't want to bring the car elsewhere. Circa 1850 is just by the doorstep, literally! So inside we went. Wow, this place is hip! Very well appointed and cozy. Subtly lit and soothing ambiance. I love their sitting options where you can choose between a booth, high table, bar side or usual. Your pick. I could spend half a day here with a laptop and fly! Enough said. The food? Well, the resto looks awesome and so is the food! Obviously they took to great lengths to give you sumptuous gourmet experience in all their offerings. I really appreciate that. But i am not that kind of muncher, i go for flavor, taste, and adventure. When our food came, it was beautiful but it was something you need to tackle, My Hamburger i mean! First, it was tall. Then the bun is tough, stretchy, and hard. The patty, although huge but too bland, dry, and tasteless for me. I prefer a burger that has a grilled taste, brute and dripping with juices. It was a disappointment and i didn't enjoy it. But in fairness, my daughter dani enjoyed photographing hers, am not sure she liked it. But nevertheless, it was Instagramable! Leslie enjoyed her salmon plate though. I would rate the food at 3 stars for the taste and price that is way up there, presentation is 5 star solid and so is the chic, hip interior of the resto! 4 stars for the staff who gave prompt service but plays with their celphones at times. But then the staff are humans too and have love lives, so i...

Location: 5/5 Food and Drinks: 4/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 4/5
Overall Feedback:
The Location Close to SM Downtown makes it accessible bot public and private transportation. There are parking spaces but can get full during peak hours.
The Space They a rustic theme that is very cohesive on all their designs including furnishing and menu. They enough space and can accommodate small private events.
The Food and Drinks Very dcent food and drinks served. We ordered I think a breakfast platter that has bacon and pancake as well as this adobo flakes with rice. We also ordered iced and hot latte.
The Service The staffs are very accommodating and attentive. I was initially confused who thw staffs are because they don't have a uniform but when we entered they greeted us.
Value for Money I'd this is a bit expensive but versus the market competition, I can think of Pancake House, they almost have the same price range.
Do I recommend this place? Yes. This is a resto you can comeback to for something better than fastfood or...
Read moreWe have enjoyed this restaurant for many years and have included it on our frequent trips to CDO. Sadly over the past few trips things seem to have changed. On each occasion we have seen a notice on the front door indicating it was either closed for a private group or that it was fully booked. Today we tried one last time, arriving just after 6pm. The restaurant was half empty but had a fully booked sign outside. When we inquired about availability we were told (not politely) that we should have made a reservation. So we went elsewhere to eat. Arriving back at 7:30pm, we saw that the restaurant was still half empty, but the notice 'fully booked: was still on the door. When I started to take a photo (for my own records) somebody hurriedly came out a took down the sign. Is management playing games? Is the chef only able to meet the demands of half of the tables? In any case this restaurant has lost two very loyal customers. In these tough economic times we would wish all businesses to remain successful. We recommend that management review its practices not to lose...
