Chosun Chicken — Restaurant in Cebu City

I always come to this place everytime I’m craving for my Kimchi Stew! So I know the taste! I think it’s the best place for me since i live nearby and not to mention the taste of their chicken! It’s exceptional. But I’m so disappointed by the service of the cashier staff today Sep 2, 2025 at 4:00pm the staff who’s assigned at the counter area was very rude !! When I’m paying my bill I just leave a comment to her that the Kimchi Stew today suit my taste that it’s back to how it used to be “taste” - it’s the same as what I always had for the past first months of coming there bec I’m a regular costumer! even tho I don’t pay much but at least my comment should be heard by her! But the cashier, instead of saying ‘thank you’ after I complimented the kimchi stew I had, she raised her voice and sounded angry at me!! Saying that the kimchi stew it comes with packed so meaning the cook can’t changed it! That’s what she was trying to say but she should say it with a calm voice bec she is talking to a costumer ! And this is not the first time it happened to me by her! I had a scenario when they are having this spicy noodle give aways! Same person same staff I think her name is Geraldine ? I have been a customer since my college days, which was around 10 years ago. Go to orders were always ramyun, the boneless chicken, and when we had some extra money, the kimchi fried rice.

Now that I am working, I order the kimchi fried rice everytime... last time I had it, there was something off with the taste, but maybe it was just a one time thing... the chicken was still yummy.

However, tonight, after a waiting time of 40 minutes, the rice had the consistency of lugaw (porridge) and we couldnt even swallow it a spoonful because it was very disgusting. We immediately reported it to the servers but they reasoned that it was just the "kind of rice" that they're using now (NFA???) but when we requested 2 cups of plain rice just to have our already delayed dinner, the consistency was better. This experience was such a downgrade.

Aside from the rice fiasco, we initially seated ourselves near the air conditioning unit at the 2nd floor but we had to move because there was a rat behind the aircon 😭. Our server was a girl named Love Joy. She cleared our table of the previous diners' plates but did not wipe the table down. Still was very dirty after 15 mins of sitting down and we had to call the attention of another server to clean our table. Menu was not given automatically. After giving our order to Love Joy, we waited for 30 minutes before following up on our order. But when it was almost close to 1 hour of wait, we decided to complain. Apparently, staff upstairs have no idea what orders were placed or not. Main counter at the ground floor said our order was not in their system. Wow.

We. Waited. For. One. Friggin. Hour. For. Nothing.

Love Joy was enjoying her time downstairs sitting down, and when we came to complain, she hid in the kitchen.

If I could give less than 1⭐, I would.
