Almost Impossible to find at night. You guys REALLY need a sign out front. Had I not been meeting friends there last night, I would have chosen one of the other 3 or 4 Italian places on your small street that actually had a sign letting me know they were in business. This place had a sign that had a different name on it out front!? After 3 trips up and down the street, our friends came outside and flagged us down.
Service was bad to mediocre based on the price of their food. They forgot an order of one of our party, took them 10 minutes to serve a soft drink, no checking up to see how the meals are, etc. Little things that one would expect from a restaurant at their price point that simply don't happen. Add up all the little things and you get to not so great service (I live in Cebu, so I expect to have to flag servers down etc), but other restaurants in this price point offer much better service IMO (Anzani, Pig and Palm, Acacia are all excellent at a similar price point).
I ordered the pizza, which was passable, but at P550-600 for a 12" pizza I'd expect more toppings on a pizza for that price, One halved slice of meat per piece is not enough IMO. The taste was good & authentic, but the value for what you get wasn't really there for me. If you are looking for quality ingredients, sparsely put on a pizza, I suppose this is a good spot to try. Their antipasto tray was excellent. I tried some of the pasta dishes a few of my friends ordered, I would not order any of them again.
3 stars for the experience -1 star for wrong signage & being next to impossible to spot from the road at night for...
Read moreA very nice looking place. I had searched online for the best Italian/Pizza places in Cebu since I go there often, and this place came up. Walking in, I saw they had won awards for the best Italian restaurant and the best pizza in Cebu in 2016 and 2017, so I was excited, especially after seeing the large brick oven. Staff seemed a bit unorganized, but that have been because a large party arrived shortly after us. Here's what we tried:
Pizza Prosciutto - very bland sauce, and slightly undercooked. The Prosciutto was hard to cut or bite through so I ended up removing them from my pieces. The undercarriage had minimal char on it, and the crust had none. Very disappointing. They may have won an award years ago, but you're only as good as your last Pizza.
Spaghetti with meatballs - another huge disappointment. I ordered this because my wife loves meatballs. The meatballs had a very strange flavor to them that I couldn't pinpoint. My wife didn't like them either, which is very unusual. The spaghetti was undercooked. I prefer it al dente, as it should be cooked, but there was far too much bite.
Ravioli with ricotta and spinach - after taking a bite, I looked inside, and all I saw and tasted was spinach. These types of ravioli should have a generous amount of ricotta, with a little spinach mixed in. I'm not sure if there was even any ricotta at all, and again, the sauce was bland and unexciting.
Overall, this seems to be a place that either got lazy or lost the...
Read moreStaff seems very unhappy. No smiles very drab with an almost overall atmosphere of they can't stand being there. The pizza is always great. I really like the one in bohol and the one that was on punta engauno was really nice too. But I'm quite certain that the risotto I ordered was made from regular rice. I think that want to save on costs but I've had risotto all over the world, so many times. I've cooked it myself, so many times, I'm quite sure I was given regular rice. I said to the guy, I think this is regular rice. He brought me the package of the risotto but of course the package had never been opened. I don't know where they got the rice from. Anyway, I'm quite certain it was not arborio rice because it was rectangle in shape and has cuts down the middle. Arborio rice is always oval in shape with no cuts in it and it's more firm than regular rice. It you look at the photos, it clearly looks like regular rice they tried to pass off as risotto. Risotto sucks in the flavor that it's being cooked in. This rice had no flavor in it. It was basic rice with like a pasta sauce. The shrimp was a bit overcooked also. That was the seafood risotto. The wine and pizza are good. Would not recommend the risotto. I think Bohol would do it all though. The staff is very friendly there and the food is...
