My recent visit to Rico's Lechon in Cebu was, regrettably, one of the most unsatisfactory dining experiences I've encountered. While renowned for its lechon, the restaurant falls short in almost every other regard—especially in service, ambiance, and pricing.
Firstly, the prices at Rico's are excessively steep for what they offer. For instance, a quarter kilo of lechon here is priced at P395, compared to CnT's P270. While Rico's lechon may hold a strong reputation for flavor, the same cannot be said for other items on their menu. Their chop suey, for instance, is priced at P310, despite a noticeably smaller portion compared to the generous serving offered at CnT for only P265.
Adding to the disappointment is the mandatory P100 service charge. This fee would be acceptable if there was any semblance of attentive service; unfortunately, it’s absent here. The staff seemed overwhelmed to the point that the chef had to come out to take our orders. Basic courtesy and promptness, hallmarks of good service, were noticeably missing—a stark contrast to the warm and attentive service at CnT, where no service charge is imposed.
The ambiance, too, leaves much to be desired. There’s a palpable lack of energy and hospitality, which is exacerbated by the poor service, making the overall dining experience feel transactional and unwelcoming.
In summary, I would recommend steering clear of this establishment, especially if you're in Ayala and have other, far better options nearby. For a more authentic and reasonably priced Cebuano dining experience, you may want to consider other...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Rico's Lechon in AyalaMalls Central Bloc, IT Park, Cebu City – and it was quite an experience! The moment you step into Rico's Lechon, you're greeted by a vibrant and ornate setting. It's clear this isn't just any restaurant; the decor exudes a certain grandeur that makes the dining experience feel special. Even between typical lunch and dinner hours, the place was bustling with a good number of diners, a testament to its popularity. Of course, the main event at Rico's is the lechon, and we decided to try something a little different from the usual pork: the Lechon Baka (Beef). It was incredibly flavorful and tender, a truly satisfying take on the lechon concept with beef. Alongside this, we had the Calamares, which were perfectly cooked and crispy, and a side of Adobo Kangkong, which added a nice, savory, and healthy balance to our meal. The service was efficient, even with the busy crowd, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. Rico's Lechon at AyalaMalls Central Bloc is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking to experience delicious Filipino cuisine in a lively and well-appointed environment. It's more than just a meal; it's a vibrant...
Read moreThis is the WORST restaurant I have ever been to in my existence. As a filipino and a tourist in Cebu, I have very much high expectations in terms of their "Lechon" however this restaurant proved me wrong. We ate there early dinner with my partner and there was no one else in the restaurant. We waited around 20 minutes for our food and when it arrived, it was served cold. I was excited to try the lechon skin, but it wasn't even crispy. Worst part, the meat was obviously poor quality and had a distinctive smell to it. In bisaya, angso ang karne. The meat smelled like it was delivered 2 days prior, the pancit guisado also had the same distinctive smell. Our appetite was ruined that we could not finish our food. Paid around 30 dollars for a meal that's not even worth it. Tried to reach out to their FB page since they claim they have the best lechon, mind you they have tons of branches in Cebu and they even have a branch in Manila lol. I tried to voice out my concern but only got a mediocre reply and seened me after few messages. This is the worst restaurant and I highly suggest that you should save yourself in visiting...
