The barbecue is good, but could be better. Its a cebu-style bbq where the bbq are coated in a sweet and savoury sauce.
Is it really worth it? No. The prices are too extravagant as if you're eating in a decent restaurant. For a cup of rice, you'd be set back by already 35 pesos and softdrinks that are 8oz are priced the same. For a decent meal of 3 people, the needed budget would be set around 600~800 pesos. The prices really doesn't fit the serving. I suggest going to Mang Inasal nlng kasi at least dun, di ka na magworry mag extra rice.
Despite being a barbecue place, they don't even have plastic/plastic gloves. The sauces are near their counter that don't have trays, they don't have sili, calamansi or anything really you see at a common bbq place in the philippines. They give you a small saucer of their signature bbq sweet sauce pero they won't refill it back for you. There are countless staff but there's really no service once you order. Oh, and their water is self service, without ice. They don't even allow you to bring food and drinks from outside.
Essentially, yakski is a slightly tastier but really overpriced version of the common bbq places in cebu. I suggest going to Sugbo Mercado if you ever care about finances.
Not a harsh evaluation because this is purely based on "do you get your money's worth, while being satisfied?". Unfortunately, my experience wasn't.
Used to be a really great place before, and had reasonable prices. Now it's just a tourist trap...

Barbecue is superb, be it pork or chicken. Now some complain that their meat is sort of hard, but to each his own.
The good thing with their BBQs is that they are well-cooked, which is a big plus. Some may find it rubbery or hard, compared to other usual BBQs that are grilled raw.
The price is fair, not too pricey but not really cheap. You'll do more with your money instead of going to M Inasal.
Usually go there during dinner, but they open at lunch time. The place is clean and well ventilated, but during noon or summer, it can be dry and unbearably hot.
Restrooms are nearby with each for male and female, although they need to be attended to constantly.
They use plastic table and monobloc chairs, floor isn't concrete but gravel filled.
There is waiting time here, especially during peak hours. Not sure if they accept reservations, but they are always packed!
They have this special sauce, either sweet or spicy.
When you have folks or friends from outside Cebu or Visayas, bring them here, they will love it if BBQs are...
Read moreExcluding non-BBQ food chain restaurants, what do you usually look for when it comes to eating out? Unlimited rice? Mang Inasal, yes. Ribshack, yes. Barbecue? Yakski totally blows them all out of the water and takes the cake. The speedy services, the scrumptious choices, the fulfilling food feasts, what more can you ever ask for? (Sorry, no unli-rice here.) Oh yes, that single most essential aspect of eating -- the enjoyment from the food, both in the stomach and in the mind. The flavor, the quality, the consistency, the texture, and other whatnots of the food just simply ecstasize my digestive instincts to unprecedented levels. What are Mang Inasal and Ribshack for by the way? (No offense to them and I like them too.) I'd say Mang Inasal for the halo-halo probably and Ribshack for a much cheaper unli-rice alternative. But these are just fronts of what you'd say lame excuses of a lackluster BBQ experience. Let's come clean here and admit that Yakski is the real BBQ MVP.
Another pro: flavorful sauce
Cons: foods are noticeably a bit sweeter than the...
