Island Sips and Sweet Moments at The Coco Cafe – Bantayan Trip Diary

I recently took a refreshing trip to Bantayan Island, and one of the highlights of my visit was discovering a charming spot called The Coco Cafe. Nestled right in the heart of the island, this cozy cafƩ instantly gave off a chill, tropical vibe that made me want to stay for hours.

I ordered their Island Brew and tried their Vietnamese Coffee—each sip felt like a warm hug under the shade of coconut trees. They served it as I also ordered a cookie on the side, which was the perfect companion for the bold, aromatic flavors of the coffee.

The best part? The prices are super affordable, especially considering the quality and ambiance. Plus, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more memorable.

Sorry, this place sounds good but the food is not. The prices are high for the quality and some other small stuff. Ordered and paid for extra eggs, were not given the amount of two scrambled eggs… unless they use very small ones. They are cooked to the consistency of a rubber tire, no spices added. They don’t have salt or pepper šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ‘ŽšŸ¼. The waffle is cold and not a good recipe šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼.

As I order I can’t hear the employee and mention because the music on her phone is right next to us, she starts borderline screaming. Don’t be a weirdo. We came to try your place and are glad to support small businesses… but the food just isn’t good.

Lots of flies and they start cooking dried fish, the smoke was blowing on us from a fan. It’s nasty. Your crew should...

We must have come on a bad day, because the service was so bad. Woman barely acknowledged us, acted like we were bothering her with our coffee order, food order, paying etc. it wasn’t until she handed my change back did she smile real big and wish us a good day obviously wanting me to place money in the tip jar. I put 50pesos in cause we want businesses to survive. But how are reviews great if that’s how she acted. I’m sure we got a new or different server cause that was the worst we’ve had in our month trip in the Philippines. Not coming back but would if service actually was average or above. We felt like a massive burden being there and we were nothing but smiles and overly kind. Smoothie was bad, coffee and...

You should never miss this place if you plan to visit Bantayan Island. The best food I've had during our 3D2N stay! 🤌 If you're looking for a filling meal to break your fast, the Aloha Breakfast meal is my top recommendation. Generous serving on the bacon & sausage and the waffle is so soft šŸ¤ Danggit Series is just a typical danggit & tocino meal but it's cooked well (not burnt) & you really get what you paid for as both of the meals have orange juice included. For our drinks, I've tried the Spanish Latte (it tastes good) and for sweet tooths out there, you should get the Choco Loco! I highly recommend this tiny cafe! Will be back soonest 🫶

Consistent flavors and service! The coco cafe has never let me down, they always make sure that they cater to my order as much as they can, like this one time where they went aeound the island just to look for ingredients to a meal that I wanted to order, and thats not an easy task considering that there are seasons in the island where supplies are limited. They always go above and beyond. They make sure to serve only the freshest and quality ingredients. My go to is their danggit silog meals, grilled cheese sandwich, american breakfast, and vietnamese coffee. Keep up the good work!
