Bakugo Ramen is a phenomenal ramen restaurant in Dumaguete and, in my opinion, currently holds the crown as the best ramen spot in town.
We tried the Red Dragon Ramen, a Shio-based umami-rich broth infused with mild chilis and black garlic. The flavors were bold, the broth perfectly spiced, and the noodles cooked al dente, which I personally loved. The Chashu pork was delicious, though slightly chewier and less tender than I’d prefer, but overall, this dish was incredibly enjoyable.
We also ordered the Tantanmen, featuring a sesame paste base seasoned with an umami-rich blend of spices and topped with rich pork Soboro. The sesame flavor stood out beautifully, and while it didn’t quite match the perfection of the Red Dragon Ramen, it was still a delightful dish.
One unique feature is that you can order additional noodles to refill your ramen after finishing the broth, a great option for noodle lovers.
Overall, Bakugo Ramen is fantastic. While it’s on the pricier side, the high-quality ingredients and exceptional flavors make it well worth it. Definitely a must-try for ramen enthusiasts...
Read moreRegarding service: We were a large group (9 people) and had a late lunch here. The service is great, the staff were welcoming and worked quickly, we got our orders fast and piping hot! We actually forgot a couple of items and the staff was quick to run after us to give the items back.
Regarding Food: It was good, the servings were larger than I thought they'd be, so the price is honestly worth it. The spice levels of the Dragon Ramen are warrented, even the lvl 1/mild has a kick to it. The karaoke was just fried chicken, not bad but not great, nothing to complain about. The black garlic ramen was my order and I loved how garlicy it was. The iced tea pitcher came with a lot of ice, but it was so concentrated it balanced out.
Regarding atmosphere: The place definitely has a vibe to it. It's cool, it's clean, it's trendy looking. A little sparse on decor at the...
Read moreI had the opportunity again to eat at their new location at the Light House Point Hotel --- tried their new additions to the menu, the Tantanmen and the Szechuan Beef ramen and was not disappointed. The quality of their noodles has improved somewhat for the better and the spiciness and flavor of the ramen broth was exquisite. Tried their new chicken karaage and the chicken was well marinated and remained moist under the breading. Hands-down, this ramen house never fails to address my ramen cravings a lot more than the other ramen houses in Dumaguete. Their charsui is still spot-on flavorful, nicely marinated, and bigger in dimensions than the other cheaper ramen houses in Dumaguete. The ambience is also good with booth counters making it look like an authentic ramen house. Very friendly, gracious, and always-smiling staff completes the experience. Still...
