Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Price: 8/10 Ambiance: 10/10
My partner and I had an amazing dining experience at Palmitas Kitchen & Bar! The staff were nice, attentive, and very proactive. The food was fantastic, and the presentation was beautiful for the price. We just hope they maintain the quality regardless of who is in charge of the kitchen.
Chicken Pesto - The pasta noodles were cooked perfectly, with the right creaminess and a subtle basil flavor (not too strong).🫶
Cardamom Chicken - Sobrang sarap. We both loved this! It was creamy yet not overwhelming. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. 🫶
Grilled Porkchop - Sobrang sarap. Meat was juicy and flavorful. Java rice was delicious as well. 🫶
Pollo ala Brasa - highly recommended!! Super sarap. The sauce was flavorful and the serving was generous. A bit dry on the chicken breast lang pero this is a solid 10. 🫶
Mashed Potatoes - We ordered it twice, but the second time around, the quality wasn’t the same. It was still good, but if they could keep everything consistent, that would be better.🫶
US Angus Beef Tapa - Flavor-wise, it was okay. The meat was neither too tender nor too tough, just right. The achara that came with it was something I really liked.
Pumpkin Soup - Although flavorful, it was too salty for our liking. It tasted like ginaataang kalabasa—creamy but salty. I’d recommend reducing the salt.
Ginataang Pork Adobo - The pork was crispy, but the serving size was a bit small, and the poached egg was too salty.
Kouign-Amann & Garlic Cream Cheese Bread - Both were delicious and definitely worth trying.🫶
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy yet modern, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner, chilling with friends, or enjoying some me-time. We also enjoyed their cocktails. Coffee was good too.
Overall, it was a great experience for us. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend staying at The Flying Fish Hostel and dining at Palmitas to anyone looking for a top-notch experience in...
Read morePalmitas’ location is great, and thankfully it has a setback that allows for some parking. The restaurant has an industrial look to the place, but it still gives off a comfy/laid back vibe. I think what makes the location of Palmitas nice is that it’s attached to a hostel, and it’s just a little outside the busy downtown area (but not too far from it). The area is generally not too noisy or busy, but still easy to get to via car/motor/pedicab.
Have been here a few times and I’ve found that the dishes are a hit or miss with me.
Ginataang Pork Adobo is basically lechon kawali with some adobo glaze. Good, but a little too oily for me.
Salmon Teriyaki Bowl looked amazing presentation-wise but I did not enjoy how the salmon was flavored. It had a very strong taste that felt like it overpowered everything else in the dish.
Fruits and Greens Salad was good. I think for the price they could have added more lettuce to the mix, but the sauce was good (strong vinaigrette) and slightly sweet.
Cardamon Chicken Pasta was really good. The sauce for the pasta was good, and it was plated fairly well. The chicken though was either a little too big (it overwhelms the dish considering that pasta is what I assume to be the focus) or the pasta too little, for the way it’s plated.
Overall, I think price-wise Palmitas leans towards being expensive for meals that are around ₱350-450 but aren’t big enough for sharing. There are other restaurants in the area of the same calibre and with good quality of ingredients, but with meals better suited for sharing at these kinds of prices. So if you’re looking for “bang for buck” kind of food, Palmitas wouldn’t be my...
Read moreIt was my first time trying Palmitas—I always pass by the place but never stopped until now. Honestly, I’m so glad I finally did! The food was really good, especially their pastries, which blew me away.
I tried their mango cake, cinnamon roll, and burnt cheesecake—and I loved all of them. The mango cake wasn’t overly sweet, which is a big plus for me. But what really stood out was the cinnamon roll! I’ve tried a lot from different cafés and even from Cinnabon, but Palmitas' version? Way better. Super soft, flavorful, and satisfying. It’s seriously one of the best I’ve had.
The burnt cheesecake was creamy, rich, and not too heavy—just the right balance. Everything tasted fresh and homemade.
On top of that, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was fast and polite, and they made the place feel warm. The ambiance is also a win—aesthetic, cozy, and perfect for chill coffee or catch-up moments.
This spot deserves more hype. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be...
