Very pricey for the amount of serving & service that you’ll get. I’m totally cool paying for a service charge as long as I’m getting it. Unfortunately, when we were there, the staff aren’t attentive enough. They saw us that we are done w/ our food and ready to pay but they just look at us and didn’t bring the check or at least ask if we want to order more. I have to go to the counter to pay. One of the staff is just standing there whilst chitchatting with a friend instead of helping his colleagues to clean up or do whatever that is needed. The food is okay. Nothing spectacular about it. I had the tropical smoothie and the couple of fruits are not fresh like the kiwi & pineapple.

The food menu has very teeny tiny fonts. It would be hard to read for some people. The drink menu is separate from the food. They could’ve just have it on the same menu board with the food cus it’s only one piece of paper on each menu board.

The place is nice though. Its a 2 storey building with parking area, good enough if you have a rig or big car. The cafe is located in the ground floor. You can’t go to the 2nd floor (they blocked it with a board) cus its only open at 6pm for La Mensa restaurant. Unfortunately, they don’t have wifi which is not ideal for people who wanna do some work online. Comfort room is big and not stinky & has toilet paper. Most of their inside seating are more likely for groups & not for two. I think they only have a couple of tables that is good for two. They have outdoor seating which is nice but I don’t think it’ll be easy to get the attention of the waiters inside bc they are not attentive enough to the customers even you’re inside.

They also accept online bank transfer payments besides cash which...

We arrived 11:15am for a quick lunch before our flight. Service was so bad. Took long before they handed out menus. Service water took 15 mins to come out.

By 12:00, we followed up our order. The staff did not seem to want to prioritize it. She just explained that orders come out one by one. Did not even go to the kitchen to check the progress of our orders.

By 12:15, we followed up again. No food has still been put out. That was the only time the staff tried checking the kitchen.

By 12:30, a waitress came by and asked us what our orders were so that she could check the kitchen. That was the moment we just stood up and left. We felt that they were very inattentive. That question seemed to imply that they were unsure of what are orders even were.

Side note: waitstaff seemed to be dodging us. We saw them glance towards us while we try to catch their attention, but they proceed to neglect us.

Overall: 1/5 stars. Food looked good on the menu but that’s it. Staff never updated us and were not even apologetic. Waited for around 1.5 hrs with still no food on our table

Go to Jo’s chicken inato instead. Quick 3 min walk from the establishment. Food came out in 5 mins and it was...

Was very disappointed with the “deconstructed” Chicken Tocino. Did not taste like Tocino at all. Menu says “sweet tocino glaze”. Expected the glaze to be covering the “boneless fried chicken” similar to a honey glazed chicken but instead, the “glaze” was more of a drizzle (pls. see photo) My daughter ordered Adobo Fried Rice - description says “Shredded Adobo Flakes” but the rice did not have any signs of Adobo Flakes. When we asked the female staff attending to us, she pointed to the “garlic” telling us it was the “adobo flakes”. We told her it was garlic & not the adobo flakes. The female staff told us she will check with the kitchen but she never returned. So we had to ask from their another female staff who eventually confirmed that the Chef forgot to mix the adobo flakes in the fried rice. I had to follow up with her our inquiry on the adobo flakes as we were leaving already. We were really dismayed. To think they were being recommended in the Trip Advisor as the #1 breakfast place. In fairness, they offered to give us a complimentary cake but we...

I loved everything about this place—from its location and ambiance to the staff, food, and beverages. The space feels like a charming antique house, giving off a warm, homey vibe that makes waiting for your food far from boring. There’s always something interesting to look at, which adds to the overall experience. The staff were very attentive to our needs. They took the time to explain the menu, served us kropek while we waited, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Their coffee was the best I had during my trip to Dumaguete—far better than any I had in Siquijor. Rich, bold, and memorable. As for the prices, I wouldn’t call them expensive at all. Every peso felt worth it. The rice meals were generous—easily good for sharing. In fact, we didn’t finish ours and had to take the leftovers home simply because it was too good to waste. Even their comfort room was clean and well-maintained, which says a lot about their overall attention to detail. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back ❤️

Arrived 9.30 for breakfast after a drive from Dauin. Parking for bikes is away from the door in a puddle (it did rain a lot last night). But why when there was 1 car here and space for 10-12 cars. Seated quickly, ordered iced latte (180peso) and eggs benedict ( peso). Arrived quickly, lovely, cooked perfect, although hollandaise had a hint of garlic. Had to ask for salt and pepper, it wasn't on the table or automatically given. After wafting away a few flys I was given a skinny thing for the table to keep them away, it is rainy season and the location is in a bit of a forest area, so understandable. Atmosphere gets a 4/5 just because it is Sept 12th and they are playing Christmas songs, I did ask why and they just said the supervisor picks the playlists. I dont mean 1 rogue song, it was nonstop Christmas songs for my visit.

We had a great dinner at Buglas. We tried their signature pizza, penne pasta, and lasagna, all of which exceeded our expectations. Although the staff mentioned that each dish was good for one person only, the serving sizes were actually bigger than expected, making them great for sharing. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try their cakes because we were already too full! We went for dinner, and the place was quiet and relaxing, with only a few other diners around. The ambiance at night is especially lovely, definitely a great time to go if you want to enjoy the space more peacefully. Highly recommend for a cozy evening meal.
