Location: The place is quite a walk from the highway, and the poorly lit roads make it sketchy to walk at night. Rooms: Each bunk has its own lamp and a socket for charging your gadgets. However, the foam tends to sink in the middle and needs flipping from time to time. Comfort room: Each dorm room has its own fully equipped comfort room with a working toilet, bidet, hot and cold shower, and hair dryer. Food and Drinks: We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed 2 free breakfasts. The tocino (served with 2 sunny side-ups) was delicious. However, the pancake stack we ordered and paid from the menu was only served with honey, despite the menu mentioning fruit purees. There's a welcome drink upon check-in, and it was great! Overall, Mad Monkey Dumaguete is definitely worth your money. Although it's a budget hostel, the top-tier service makes it a great choice!

When we arrived at mad monkey, the staffs are very friendly esp at the reception desk. Keizi, entertained and its very good. She knows what shes doing esp in her job. Kyle also was so amazing because he put more effort in every night events to make the mad monkeys guests entertained. Very approachable. And also Sean is a great man, he actually helped us in our luggage and some stuffs and Most especially to Mr. Ariel because of some good cocktails and also granted my favor 😊. Its our secret 🤣.They deserve to have a good position and a good salary in your company. I am sorry I put 2 stars only for the rooms because of my bed, its very noisy when im moving that disturbed my sleeping. Ill surely recommend the mad monkeys to my friends and enemies 🤣.. im so kind . Thank you and God bless 😊

Rooms - clean, fresh sheets, and new mattress. Comfort room has bidet, hot and cold shower, and they provide free soap/tissues. You have your own nook with 1 outlet and lamp. They had a pool ⭐️ Eveyone was very friendly. Our roomies were nice. Service - Facebook page super responsive 👍 booked through their website, got a discount 😃 Staff - super friendly (front desk) but the guy managing their restaurant seems grumpy. Location - accessible, walking distance to food places and trike/tuktuk can easily access. Also walking distance to cafe racer and the northern part of boulevard. Highly recommended, not only are they affordable but you get to meet/interact with other people. Their drinks and food is great too. If you're looking for cheap accommodation, this is it. 😃

Amazing brand new hostel in a great location!

Located between Dumaguete airport and the City Port, its in an ideal spot for backpackers and anyone coming to/from Siquijor. Only 5-10 min walk to the sea promenade as well.

We had the wondeful experience of being the first ever guests in this brand new Mad Monkey! The staff greeted us at the front gate and even allowed us to cut the ribbon for the grand opening!

We have stayed in several Mad Monkeys now across Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Philippines. This one is definitely the nicest!

Staff were absolutely brilliant and so attentive. Food was great, drinks were good and not overpriced.

Marloid the manager was so helpful, as well as Kyle and Ivy the guest experience team who were so much fun and joined us in playing games and karaoke.

The hostel has a nice pool, as well as a beer pong table, and even a dart board and petanque/boules area (this was a first for us - always something fun to do!)

We stayed in the 6 person mixed dorm. The stone path walk to the dorm rooms in the garden with each dorm being in its own little building makes you feel like you are staying in a 5 star resort. The rooms were very clean, beds wide and comfy with plug and lamp. Clean ensuite bathroom with a good shower and hot water.

The tour office were very helpful in suggesting activities and arranging a motorbike rental for us as well.

Overall, a stellar hostel that I'm sure will become a huge hit in no time. The only reason there isnt any reviews is because it is literally brand new, opened on 22/12/23! Would recommend to anyone visiting Dumaguete, it is far nicer and better value than other alternatives in the area.

We had such a great experience that we have booked in for another night after we come back...

Not at all like the other mad monkeys I've stayed at. The location is weirdly away from anything, tucked away down a really dark side street with nothing around. The room is ok but very bland and we were greeted by the smell of sewage when we woke up. Wifi worked relatively well. The bar/restaurant is ok, but all the prices don't include tax, so you'll end up paying a higher and weird amount for everything (like 124 pesos for a drink). The quality of the pizza we had was not worth it, but edible if you're really really hungry. Breakfast was nice but no coffee included... what kind of party orientated hostel doesn't offer free coffee to its hungover guests? Which brings me to my last point... this Mad Monkey hostel has the atmosphere of a karaoke bar in Romford, UK. Music gets cranked up to 11 in the evening so you might think there's something happening but no, it's just one member of staff singing their lungs out to Britney Spears with a couple of cats as an audience. It's a pretty sad affair.

Don't make the same mistake as we did, thinking that it would be a good idea to stop here before heading to Siquijor. Just get to the island. You will not meet many people and it's better to head directly to your...

Pro: -Staff is awesome 10/10 -Beds are bigger then usual and comfy 10/10 -Staff is awesome -Very clean -Breakfast pancakes are super fluffy like donuts -and btw, the staff is really awesome

Cons: -No WiFi (not their fault, there was a fire at some neighbours place. But they could have told the arriving guests before, I would have cancelled, as I work online) -No good internet coverage with any SIM card -A bit far from everything -quite expensive food prices (cheapest pizza is margarita for 280P, local food also expensive) and food from outside is not allowed, so also no kitchen. -the weekly activities plan fixed in the rooms is wrong. I was excited about the Filipino family dinner, but it didn’t happened cuz the plan was changed by the management :(

Resume: I would not come again, cuz the food is very expensive, there is no good/cheap place near to eat and buying groceries to eat in the hostel is...
