Romantic beach restaurant and bar — Restaurant in General Luna

We just had the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! DONT RECOMMEND at all!

My boyfriend found a STEEL SCREW NUT in his beens. He almost bite in it! Right afterwards I took out a PLASTIC peace out of my mouth which was in the jam! We reported both incidents directly to the staff. They haven’t apologised at all to us, no surprised reaction, nothing at all. As it would happen on daily basis!

We stayed as a walk in guests at their pool the whole day, started with the breakfast buffet first (500 Php per person) which was counted as the consumable for the pool access. We signed even their papers for the pool access and paid directly after the breakfast.

Afternoon we wanted to order a pizza. No pizza, they save it for the dinner reservations! After we ate something else we were asked three times if we stay at their villas and if we paid for the pool, under which name we paid etc… After fourth time I stormed out cause I felt totally accused from them as we wouldn’t pay at all. I said three times my name, they have the paperwork from morning for the pool even! Totally unbelievable terrible behavior from the staff! I had to show them my payment receive cause they were misbehave to us the whole time! Finally they checked their papers and apologize for it, cause the previous shift didn’t informed them. But that is not our problem! And you don’t treat guests like this!!! We told them about the breakfast with plastic and metal, they didn’t really believe us cause nobody told them from the morning shift. Yeah, they can check their camera records!

We dined here and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, we also loved that they had a high chair for our baby and they accepted card payment. Oh and they also gave us some insect repellent for the mozzies which was thoughtful!

The food wasn’t terrible but wasn’t amazing. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, the chicken pieces were really soft and juicy but I wouldn’t consider it a typical sweet and sour dish. The sauce was sweet but no balance for the sourness. I’ve only ever seen this dish made with pineapple but this wasn’t the case here as it was made with mango which I don’t eat. It was also full of large sticks of ginger which was far too overpowering and couldn’t eat. By the time I finished, I realised that all I ate was chicken and carrot. I was also surprised it didn’t come with rice. The menu didn’t say it came with rice so that’s my fault but I just assumed it would as most ‘stir fries’ and Thai dishes do, unless a soup or noodle dish. My husband had the chicken basil dish which was much better and more enjoyable than mine.

The most concerning part for us was that we saw not one but two big rats running around. One along the path just outside the entrance to the restaurant on the way in (I thought it was a cat at first) and then one running across the the pool area and onto the deck of the outdoor dining area about 1m away from tables with people eating - we saw this one after we had already eaten (we then realised the first was in fact a rat not a cat) :/ I probably wouldn’t go here again...
