Absolutely Appalling Inasal and Even Worse Service I'm usually a big fan of chicken inasal, but my recent experience at there was a complete disaster from start to finish. I'm not sure what was worse, the bland, anemic chicken or the shockingly incompetent staff. First, the inasal itself. It was a pale imitation of the vibrant, flavorful dish I know and love. There was no hint of that smoky, charred goodness, no zing from the annatto oil, and frankly, it tasted like boiled chicken that had been waved vaguely in the direction of a grill. The skin was rubbery, the meat dry and utterly devoid of seasoning. I honestly wonder if they even bothered to marinate it. It was, in a word, depressing. But the food, as terrible as it was, was almost overshadowed by the abysmal service. It took ages for anyone to even acknowledge our presence, despite the restaurant being half-empty. When we finally did order, our drinks arrived warm and the rice was cold. Trying to get a refill or even just catch a server's eye felt like an Olympic sport. They seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves or staring blankly into space than attending to customers. My request for extra sinamak was met with a blank stare and then simply forgotten. When I finally flagged someone down again, they acted like I was inconveniencing them. This place is a prime example of how to ruin a perfectly good dish with poor execution and even poorer customer service. Save your money and your appetite. There are far better places to get authentic chicken inasal, and certainly places where you're treated with a modicum of respect. Avoid...
Read moreJust wanted to share our experience here in your la union branch. when we were seated right after ordering, it almost took 30 mins before our orders arrived. the cashier didn't inform us that it would take that long. I don't mind waiting so long as I know how much time I need to wait or I can just leave if I have no time to spare. I don't mind that staff would take their lunch where the customers are eating but they are so loud. your place is already at the road side so it is given that it would be noisy but the staff's noise added to the noise pollution. The worst part is, the liempo was raw. I lost my appetite when I saw it, we waited for 30 mins just to be served with raw food. When I told your staff about the raw food the only option they have is to put it back on the grill. no apologies or whatsoever. I told them just to take it as I've already lost my appetite. nobody came back to apologize or do something. I forgot to pay for the extra rice that I added and I'm already at the car. I went back to pay it. This is another opportunity to apologize but I still...
Read moreLast weekend, we traveled all the way from Manila to La Union, a 5-hour journey, and ended up dining at this restaurant. We had visited here back in 2022, and the food was excellent, even though it took a while to be served due to the long lines. This time, when we decided to return, we were told the wait would be 40 minutes, which we agreed to. I ordered a mango shake for 120 pesos, but it tasted more like Mango Powered Juice. After about 30-40 minutes, our order finally arrived, and we were disappointed. I ordered inasal, but instead, we got fried chicken that had a slight inasal flavor and a burnt, flame-grilled taste, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, the prices were much higher compared to our previous visit, and the food was far below the standard we had experienced before. We won’t be coming back to Elyu Inasal or in La Union in general. It was a complete waste of time and money—nothing special. Everything was overpriced, and the quality was far from even the...
