Lola Monica's BBQ House — Restaurant in Lapu-Lapu

We came across this amazing BBQ place as we were exploring the area in the evening in search of a place to have our late dinner (September 2024).

BBQ sign definitely caught our attention. Although there weren't many people inside (probably most already ate as it was well past 8pm), but the smell of the BBQ food was quite appealing.

We were pleasantly surprised that all the items on the menu were still available to order despite the late hour. With the help from the wait staff, we got busy ordering - vegetable kare-kare followed by pork BBQ stick with rice and extra chicken BBQ stick, as well as chicken inasal with rice.

When the food arrived and we tried the dishes we were taken to the culinary flavour heaven - everything was outstandingly tasty. All the BBQ meat had a lot of flavour without overpowering the meat itself, and was still very juicy. Vegetable kare-kare were slightly cooked selection of veggies dipped in a super yummy sauce (unfortunately, no idea what sauce it was). It wouldn't be an understatement to say that we wolfed down the entire meal in a blink of an eye. We considered ordering seconds, but it was the restaurant's closing time.

Considering how delicious the food was, the meal was priced more for the locals rather than the tourists. I'd definitely recommend visiting this place for the meal if you are staying in the...

The friendly staff at Rico's Lechon across the road recommended we get their lechon for take-out as they were already closing, but have our meal here. So glad we followed their suggestion! 💖

Food portions are generous, good for 4-5 hungry people. Quality & taste are great, ang sarap! Had the sisig, kare-kare, kilawin, pakbet, talong, sinigang (we were hungry, haha) - no misses. They accommodated our bringing in of the Rico's lechon, the staff were nice & attentive. Would eat there again even if other restaurant options are...

The Bagnet and Sisig at this restaurant were the crispiest and tastiest I have ever experienced. The prices are economical and sanitary. The smiles of the employees were wonderful. I don't need any other restaurant for lunch or dinner here.
