From the moment we stepped into Taste of Lucania, we were transported—not just to a restaurant, but into the heart of Southern Italy. On June 10, 2025, we experienced something truly rare: a meal that nourished, delighted, and left us in awe.
What sets this place apart isn’t just the food (though that alone deserves a standing ovation)—it’s the soul behind it. The husband-and-wife duo who own this gem have created something intimate, heartfelt, and real. You feel it in the atmosphere, in the thoughtful service, and in every lovingly plated dish.
And the people—oh, the people. The chefs and waitstaff were smiling throughout, genuinely happy to serve, which added such warmth to the experience. Maricris, who prepared our table, was gracious and attentive from start to finish.

Read moreI’ve traveled around Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and my go-to is finding a good pasta dish and their Ravioli Caprese did not disappoint. This is now one of my favourite places to eat in Cebu.
FOOD I usually opt for pasta with white sauce but I wanted to try one of their best sellers so I opted for the Ravioli Caprese (cheese ravioli with basil cherry tomato sauce) and there were no regrets. We were fortunate to also try their tiramisu which was equally tasty.
SERVICE I appreciate going to a restaurant and being able to talk to the waitress or waiter about the menu, best sellers and ingredients. They knew what was what on the menu and when they couldn’t answer some of my more challenging questions they grabbed someone quickly who did. They were on the ball the whole time and had a smile on their face even after my 100th question. It was a really nice dining experience and quality service is something I think often lacks in the hospitality industry.

Service was attentive, but not intrusive. We were offered helpful suggestions, but demure if our preference was otherwise. We had appetizers, a main each, wine, & a shared desert. Each food item was as if prepared just for us. We had the crab cakes & roasted provolone w/eggplant & tomato, superb both. We had Tagliolini Vongole e Gamberi paired w/chardonnay & Linguini al Granchio paired w/moscato.
