This has been a favorite resto of mine since the 80s. We used to go to the one in what is now called ATC or Alabang Town Center. The area was generally called Alabang Twin Cinema but Dayrit's was actually in a long 2-storey white building where Sykes is now. Anyway, I digress. Ever since we discovered that it reopened in Magallanes, my husband and i have made several trips there to eat and take a walk down memory lane. For those of us who grew up in the south of the metro, Dayrit's holds a prominent place in our childhood memories. It was always a treat to eat there. I remember getting bug-eyed the first time i was allowed to order my own burger. For a young kid, it looked ginormous. For an adult, it isn't ginormous but it's still a bit large for me. The roast beef though.... still so freaking good! Last weekend, we tried a couple of new things -- the corned beef plate and crispy beef ribs. The corned beef was very tender but bit bland although they did include patis, calamansi and fresh chillies. The crispy beef ribs though. I now have a new favorite. It's was so full of flavor and tender.

This restaurant is a staple in Metro Manila. It is well known for their Roast Beef, but they have a plethora of food that you could choose from ranging from the classic pinoy comfort foods such as Beef Steak and Bulalo, to Pasta dishes such as pasta americana and baked macaroni. They even have german franks, and burger steaks. Whatever your craving would be, they have it. Be sure to get their Roast Beef, it is so good.. tender and juicy. The quality of the food has not changed, which makes this restaurant a classic. The covid pandemic hit them hard though, i was with my family a week ago at the magallanes branch, and the servers told us that a lot of the staff have been let go of. If you do not fancy a meal, they also sell various breakfast items for you to cook at home such as tocino, longganisa, etc.. they even sell snacks here. My mom loves the breadsticks that they sell. Overall, i highly recommend this restaurant, that offers an excellent family dining experience, which boasts of a long standing of excellent quality of food and service.

The crispy beef ribs were good - crispy and tender at the same time. The fried bangus was ok, nothing special - it's a huge serving though so there's that. I also liked the taste and texture of the sago gulaman but it's difficult to drink... maybe serve it in a tall glass and less ice next time? Resto has a nice old timey and homey appeal. The acoustics are so bad though. It can get very loud. Can use with a little more cleanliness too but it's decent overall. Don't expect a lot of vegetarian and pescetarian options from this place.
