We ate here for our Valentine's date last Sunday Feb 18.
The space was quite compact, probably a 20-30 seater, but we still felt very comfortable. The interior is very Rockwell-esque and the ambiance provided by their playlist and wonderful staff really made the experience of dining there much more enjoyable.
We were given complimentary focaccia bread with crab butter and fried pickled cucumber.
The bread had a perfect crispy, toasty exterior while still fluffy and moist on the inside. Lightly salted, overwhelmingly tasty.
The fried cucumber had that sweet pickled flavor which served as a good palette cleanser before diving in into our main dishes.
We ordered the following;
Lump Crab Toastie - P590 A bed of butter-toasted focaccia bread as a hefty amount of blue crab rested on top. The crab meat was mixed with shredded lettuce, salmon roe, lemon butter, and aioli.
The fresh natural flavor of the blue crab was distinct with every bite of the pizza-like dish. The aioli and lemon butter were not too overbearing but were a great addition to the overall flavor profile of the flatbread.
Lemon Butter Tiger Prawns - P890 Never-frozen prawns, lemon butter and grilled pineapple salsa.
The fresh prawns were grilled to perfection. It was served with a spicy paste, in-house salsa, and melted butter on the side. You'd get hints of that charcoal taste as you dig in onto the dish. The prawns were tender and at the same time had that right amount of chew and shrimpy texture. The salsa and butter were exquisite. It was very nice of the staff to have allowed us an extra complimentary serving of the salsa.
Ocean Butter Spaghetti - P690 Prawn Bisque, lemon garlic, shrimp, roe
To be honest, this was a bit of a let down. The flavor profile was one-dimensional. It lacked the garlic-y, ocean-y flavor that I was looking for in this dish. But, the quality remained consistent in terms of quality of ingredients and the pasta was pure al dente.
Overall, we were really ecstatic to have found this restaurant. Albeit the prices are steep, it is, in my opinion, more than worth it. What you see in the pictures is what you get. There's no marketing ploy done here. Food were cooked with care and passion. Staff were trained very well and emanated high levels of customer service.
Will definitely come back to try their...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Thank You Seafood and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Seeing the restaurant from the outside, admittedly it did seem a bit intimidating but the ambiance set the stage for a delightful lunch. The restaurant has a dark orange look with soft lighting which contributed well to the relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
The menu showcased an impressive array of fresh and creative choices. The variety catered to a range of tastes, from classic seafood favorites to innovative culinary creations. As a seafood enthusiast, I was particularly drawn to the Lemon and Garlic Shrimp Pasta and the Grilled Cobbler with Rice.
The Lemon and Garlic Shrimp Pasta was a revelation of flavors. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the shrimp were succulent and infused with the zesty combination of lemon and garlic. Each bite was a harmonious blend of citrusy brightness and savory richness, leaving a lingering and delightful taste on the palate. It was truly a standout dish that showcased the chef's skill in balancing flavors.
Equally impressive was the Grilled Cobbler with Rice. The cobbler was expertly grilled to perfection, with a smoky char that complemented the delicate nature of the fish. The dish showcased a commitment to quality ingredients and culinary finesse, making it a highlight of the meal.
The service was impeccable. The staff demonstrated attentiveness and knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. Our server was friendly, engaging, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and well-cared-for throughout the meal.
The experience left a lasting impression with its inviting ambiance, diverse menu, and exceptional dishes. Whether you're a seafood aficionado or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, I left saying "Thank You...
Read moreWe kicked off our meal with the sourdough focaccia accompanied by crab butter and chunky romesco. The presentation was inviting, with the focaccia served warm and inviting. The crab butter was rich and flavorful, adding a luxurious touch to each bite. The chunky romesco provided a unique twist, with its nutty notes and slight tanginess complementing the bread nicely. However, we found the focaccia itself to be a bit on the hard side, making it slightly challenging to enjoy. While the dips were intriguing and added depth to the dish, we wished for a softer bread to truly elevate the experience.
For our main course, we opted for the fish and chips, which is touted as one of their bestsellers based on Google reviews. We were excited to see if it lived up to the hype…and it certainly did! The dish featured perfectly battered dory fish that was fried to golden perfection. Each bite revealed incredibly fresh fish that flaked beautifully, showcasing its quality. The portion was generous enough for two people, making it an excellent choice for sharing. The accompanying fries were crispy and well-seasoned, providing a satisfying crunch that paired wonderfully with the fish.
The true star of our lunch was undoubtedly the seared octopus tentacle served with charred corn and romesco. This dish is what drew us to Thank You Seafood in the first place, and it did not disappoint! The octopus was expertly cooked; tender and succulent without any of that chewy or gummy texture that can sometimes be off-putting. The charred corn added a delightful sweetness that balanced beautifully with the smoky flavors of the romesco sauce. Each bite was bursting with flavor, making it an unforgettable culinary experience. If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, this dish is an...
