"We can provide you with a copy of the CCTV footage in the hope that it may help refresh your memory regarding the events that transpired on the dates related to your claims. " ^ I have emailed you, please send, thanks. Updating with response here since U Hotels doesn't care to protect their customers' privacy either: a. Yes, the incident took place outside the hotel premises, but you are withholding the only record of what happened as I return to the hotel. If I have footage of who sent me back, plate numbers, timestamps, or even the scammers' face etc. I could at least try to piece together what happened.
lost passport accusation: I arrived at NAIA at 4pm and due to 2hr jam I only reached your hotel at about 6pm EVENING 30th October due to a 2 hr jam and checked in at that time - with my passport. How would I report my passport being lost in the afternoon when I wasn't even there yet?
I followed the front desk advice and made the police report accordingly. But why is it that ONLY the Hotel Manager could acknowledge a police report (a serious matter, by the way), and why wasn't the Hotel Manager available for most of the week? If there was a stabbing/murder case, does the police force have to wait for the Hotel Manager to respond?
b." However, our front office informed you to return the following day, as it was late at night and the Hotel Manager was no longer available to facilitate your request" That is an ABSOLUTE LIE. Your front office said the Manager will only be around on 4 November morning.
c. "arrive at dawn of November 1, 2024 via Move-It, and that you were intoxicated at the time." ^ I didn't drink enough to be intoxicated - more likely I was drugged by the criminals. Why don't you send me the relevant CCTV records and key card records of my access? I have never booked a Move-It. And if I was, as you claim, 'unable to walk', how was I able to return to me room?
d. the reports When I made the police report, they gave me three copies. One they kept, one was for me to keep, and one was submitted to your front desk. Even if your front desk didn't have one of the three original copies of it, they should have that photocopy that you just claimed, which should be enough to invoke action.
"Please understand that our intention is not to protect any criminals, as you mentioned." So far I'm not convinced. A police report was made and criminals are given plenty of time to hide/run while the Hotel Manager decides when she wants to respond.
"Our goal is the safety and security of all our guest, after all a happy guest is a safe guest!" Judging by how things went down, I really don't think anyone should feel safe at your hotel.
"This is why we recommended reporting the incident directly to the nearest police station, since it occurred outside the hotel premises. We want to ensure that the incident addressed properly." But it is still not addressed properly. You have video evidence of the events, and you are withholding it from the victim, and the police whom might have use of it.
"On behalf of the management, I would like to express our sincere apologies if there's a delay on our part and the unfortunate incident you experienced." It wasn't just 'a delay'. It was a FOUR DAY DELAY. And you opened your 'sincere apologies' by accusing that I claim to have lost my passport on day 1. Based on your actions, your apologies mean nothing.
"If there is anything we can do to assist you, we would be more than willing to help." If you are actually willing to help, please send me all the CCTV evidence and keycard time records so I can piece together what happened. Original review: Made an official police report about a scam/theft on Tuesday 31st Oct. Handed report to the front desk, but the front desk said they can only check the CCTV on the 4th Nov when their supervisor (or some other excuse) is around. FOUR. WHOLE. WORKING. DAYS. Not sure if they simply don't care for customer wellbeing or are trying to give time for the criminals to run away scot-free. Can't even feel safe staying...

Our travel course with students from the US hit a major snag when our initial hotel turned out to be a buggy nightmare. Exhausted and desperate at 12:30 am, we stumbled upon UHotels Makati. What a godsend it turned out to be.
ACCOMMODATION: The staff at UHotels didn't just take our word for our predicament. They showed us sparkling clean rooms, completely free of creepy crawlies, before we even booked. That kind of confidence and transparency sealed the deal for us. We booked nine rooms on the spot for our entire three-week stay.
SERVICE: From the moment we stepped in, UHotels became our home away from home – and not just in a metaphorical sense. The staff, from the doormen to receptionist to housekeeping to the manager, were absolute gems. They weren't just friendly and efficient; they were genuinely warm and shared many a laugh and conversation with us. They even went above and beyond by storing our luggages (over 20 pieces) while we were on an excursion.
Speaking of going above and beyond, let's talk about Maam Lyza Soriano, the hotel manager. We returned late one night after a school trip to Cordillera, only to find Maam Lyza waiting for us with our room keys. Long past her shift, she stayed behind just to ensure a smooth check-in. That's the kind of dedication to guest service you rarely encounter these days.
ROOMS AND AMENITIES: The rooms themselves were cozy, comfortable, and inviting, with ambient lighting that instantly put us at ease. No more sleepless nights from noisy neighbors (even when the hotel is in Poblacion)– just peace and quiet. Some rooms even had complimentary access to Netflix, HBO, and Amazon Prime. The hotel was meticulously clean and well-maintained, and the bonus of a free tricycle ride was a delightful touch.
Maam Lyza even helped us arrange transportation to the airport – two large vans to accommodate our group of 15 and all our luggage. Talk about lifesavers!
FOOD: Uhotels is a culinary gem in Poblacion. They boast of having the best coffee in Poblacion, and let me tell you, THEY WERE NOT KIDDING. As a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur who's haunted every cafe in the area, El Mundo Cafe, located on the ground floor, takes the crown. Their Spanish latte is an absolute must-try. As well as the Binondo Longsilog, Garlic Marinated Bangus, and Salmon Fresco Al Pesto were all divine.
LOCATION: Nestled right in the heart of Poblacion, UHotels put us right in the middle of the action. Restaurants, bars, and malls were all within easy reach, making it the perfect spot to explore Makati's vibrant nightlife and cultural offerings.
A 5-Star Experience That Goes Beyond Ratings
U Hotels Makati isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience. The warmth, care, and genuine hospitality we received were truly top-notch. If you're traveling with a group (or students) and need a hotel that caters to your every need, look no further. U Hotels is...

They didn't honor my request at check in with my booking requesting a room with a reasonable working TV, and the management post false comments claiming they are fixing problems, but this couldn't be further from the truth. The problems here are the same problems that have been here for years and if anything things have got worse, not better!
The rooms are very dull and uninviting with no windows, very dim lighting and the wi-fi drops out all the time.
The TVs are terrible and used to have 4 or 5 channels and now there is only 1 channel. You can't access Netflix or YouTube and so the TV is a useless wall ornament.
The pillows are lumpy and the water pressure is average at best, and it's a complete waste of water because there is no hot water unless you run the shower for 10 to 15 minutes before the water temp comes through so you to get hot water!
All of this problems have been ongoing for years and have not been rectified for years despite the false claims they take reports of problem seriously and address them. This simply is not true.
For the price you can get cheaper more modern hotels which are brighter, and which have much better wi-fi, better modern Smart TVs, showers with better water pressure and more comfortable pillows.
The housekeeping staff are lovely and friendly and welcoming and the manager is very polite, but that's where it stops;
The service has improved compared to previous stays but they still have very bad policies. When you check out, it takes them over 10 minutes to process then they tell you they will hold your 2000 deposit for 2 weeks then release it. An absolutely disgraceful penny pinching policy, it's deceitful and trying to make extra money holding onto customer funds.
It only takes the push of a button and it's done in a few minutes, there is no excuse for holding onto customers deposits for 2 weeks.
After staying at the next hotel and checking out I've got my deposit back, bit U Hotel is still holding onto my deposit!
I don't know any other hotels in the world that does that. Appalling service. The hotel should not hold onto your deposit for such unnecessary lengthy time's, it's unacceptable and a very bad policy
Nothing has been done for years to address these ongoing problems and you can get much better value and service in other hotels. This hotel requires a lot if...
