TLDR. A rant.

Saying that we're disappointed is an understatement. The pets were UTTERLY TRAUMATISED. First, I would like to reiterate that as pets, we love food. We love to eat. And by saying this it is our passion to EAT. But I must say that after eating here, if there's a word in the vocabulary to UNEAT. We're going to do that just to remove to trauma.

In my history of giving reviews, I am very lenient in giving considerate feedback. But now, as I am typing this, I am crying literally. As I do not know how to delete the memory of taste in my cat's brain. Currently, the brain is not braining. Utter chaos, must I say. Blame the food.

We ordered their pad thai, grilled pork barbecue and Thai tea. It was the safest on the menu given that it is a Thai restaurant.

The Thai tea was the first one to be served. I thought it was a milkshake because the taste of the milk was overwhelming. You cannot even distinguish the Thai tea flavour, too opposite of what we had in our previous experiences on different thai restaurants. Even so, we had high hopes for the food. We waited roughly 30 to 40 minutes for the food to be served. I believe that good things take time (even for food). That's why it's no problem if we wait that long. (I don't know if this is an isolated case because as I read different reviews here they are raving about the food) However, they served us HARD COLD PORK BBQ. I couldn't even bite a small portion; it was so hard that I was afraid my cat's teeth might break. It's a good thing we only ordered 5 pieces; just imagine the horror if it was 10.

The thing about the pork BBQ is that it was not freshly cooked. It felt like it was cooked early in the day, and was reheated so many times that it became that hard. They served it with plain vinegar and pickled mango. Take note that this is a Thai restaurant.

Now, the pad thai lacks flavour. Upon the first bite, I already noticed that something was missing. The pad thai was soggy. There's too much egg. Can't even taste the other elements. The peanuts. The chili flakes. The tanginess. On the photo, you'll see them. But upon tasting, where the * are they. I gave it 3 tries/bites. The 2nd bite was me giving chance. The 3rd was me saying I'm done.

On the whole ordeal, the cat was just waiting for the horror to pass. We did not finish the food. Mind you, we're hungry. But even pets know what's good and bad food.

The price is just ok. But given the quality of the taste and service. It was not worth it.

If you happen to finish reading this review, I hope you don't experience the same trauma.

There's no zero star, so here's 1 star. Even if they...

I called the Rockwell branch to ask for the contact number of the BASIL CUSTOMER SERVICE / MAIN OFFICE NUMBER, the first one who answered me was like dumbfounded so I asked for the Manager. When I talked to the Manager, he did not understand and thought I was asking for the number of PODIUM BRANCH, and even advice me to search it in GOOGLE. DUH!!!! If I don’t know how to search on google, how will I get the number of their branch (ROCKWELL)?! when I told him that I have a complaint regarding PODIUM BRANCh that’s why I need their main office number, he still did not give it to me and told me to call the manager of the podium branch. Pinagtatakpan nyo yung mga mali ng branches nyo. Then later on I got a viber message from the rockwell branch introducing themselves as MARCO and KIER, so I told him that I already have contacted their assistant operations manager and also told MARCO regarding my complaint on their branch on how his employees handled my call, instead of apologizing, he thanked me for my feedback.

FYI, I DID NOT GIVE HIM A FEEDBACK, I told him regarding my COMPLAINT, which I think he did not fully understand and even told me this.. “Thank you Mam for your feedback, it's our gift for us to improve.. Please visit us again, Thank you Mam, this is Kier po Mam.. We're more than willing to serve you.. God bless po.” I did not even visit your branch so why would you say that pls visit us AGAIN?! more than willing to serve?! Are you kidding me?! You can’t or won’t even provide me a simple main office number. God bless ?! What if I am not a catholic or christian?! So I hope BASIL MAIN OFFICE MANAGEMENT will look into this branch because the way they handled my call and complaint, they were...

My recent dining experience at Basil in Powerplant Mall, Makati, left me with mixed feelings. The food was undeniably delicious, with our order of pad thai, tom yum soup, and salt and pepper porkchop standing out for their rich flavors and satisfying taste. The pad thai and porkchop, in particular, were highlights of the meal.

However, the service was notably slow. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded, we waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. This significant delay detracted from the overall dining experience and was quite disappointing.

The restaurant itself is small but aesthetically pleasing, creating a charming ambiance. However, the slow service overshadowed these positive aspects.

In terms of pricing, Basil is on the higher end. While the quality of the food might justify the cost, the service falls short of expectations. If you have ample time and are not in a rush, the culinary offerings are worth trying. Nevertheless, improving the service speed would greatly enhance the overall...

This is my first time in Basil. Food was divine. We ordered Tom Yum (Mild level), Crispy Fish with 3-Flavored Sauce, Emerald Chicken, Pineapple Rice and Pad Thai. All of the dishes were emptied. My Mom who does not like anything spicy, enjoyed Tom Yum. Yum indeed! The Crispy Fish was the hands down favorite of everyone. The first to be completely devoured to the bone 😆. The chicken was ok, the Pad Thai was chewy and I love the addition of lime to the mix. Pineapple Rice was just ok, though. Overall, I would go back to this place. Before I forget, check out Eatigo, they have promos for Basil Restaurant. Service, even if the wait staff was alone, was superb. Very attentive and open to recommend. Too bad, I forgot to ask for his name so that I could mention it here.
