Lub D Makati Is located on Makati Avenue. The staff are friendly, but the entire hotel in serious need of refurbishment, and the rooms are very poor quality. The rooms are old, small and uncomfortable. The beds are 2 single mattresses on a raised platform with no bed base, and there's not even any attempt to disguise that with any additional padding. You can easily feel the lumps and crack in the middle between the 2 mattresses. That isnt the only issue, the mattresses are hard and uncomfortable and you can feel the springs poking up into you so you cant get any reasonable sleep. The air conditioning is very noisy and rattles and is quite annoying. The pillows are also quite hard, lumpy and uncomfortable, and there is a small Smart TV, but there are no smart features, and there is no access to anything like Netflix or YouTube, and you can't even access or watch anything on a USB. Very poor and outdated. The bathroom is small and the shower only has a curtain, and the water pressure is abysmally poor. The water pressure is so low you can barely wash the soap off your body. This also applies to.the wash basin. There is a small bar fridge and tea in coffee making facilities. They do not provide dental kits, face washers, or tissues. The do not supply a hair dryer, slippers, or bathrobes. But don't even replace the free water when doing housekeeping There is no soundproofing and you can hear the people talking and moving about in the next room. The lifts are painfully slow, you can wait 10 mins or longer for a lift! There is no gymnasium or swimming pool, however there is a rooftop bar with some good views across Manila. The wi-fi is poor quality and drops out regularly. It gets quite annoying. There is so much money needed to be spent on refurbishing and replacing things in this hotel you just would not stay here. There are much better value for money hotels around. Overall hotel is very poor value for money and I wouldn't recommend it.

I thought my 6 day stay here would have been a lot better but alas it wasn’t. Although the security guy is very friendly that’s about it . The rooms are quite clean and cozy but they don’t change the blankets . They just fold it and keep it looking neat and tidy for the next person which in fact is not neat or tidy at all . There is also a major major problem that i faced here was when i used the bathroom and after coming out i saw that the colour of my clothes have faded and worn off and according to my knowledge they use Liquid Bleach across their bathrooms and toilets and when wash it off with water or anything and just leave it to dry on its own . I have already informed them about this and it has already been 2 days without a proper response from their manager / management. Whenever the ask them they say that they are investigating and will look into the CCTV footage. If they really wanted to do it and accept their mistake it wouldn’t take more than 20 minutes to confirm that it’s their fault . But yeah they are still investigating. The same thing happened the next day when I noticed one of my jogger pants have lost its colour . I approached the front reception again and told them about this but to them it was nothing. No apologies or anything. Actually they were amazed to hear my problem and just care enough to say anything after that and just told me to talk to the housekeeping manager who was also clueless. So in a matter of 2 days 3 of my expensive clothes have beeen ruined and no one to blame or answer. Probably the worst service i have received after visiting so many countries and having stayed at countless accommodations . The only good service and genuineness i got was from the Security Guard in the Main Entrance. Just avoid this place at all costs . There are far better alternatives down the street. 👎👎👎👎👎

Excellent location for P Burgos street and getting to many places around Manila. Rooftop bar was excellent and the view of the city from up there is top tier. Happy hour has the place stacked. The happy hour drinks are a little light but we got a bucket of beer and some fries. I was told I couldn’t bring outside food to eat in the lobby. If I’m living here I should be able to. Especially in a hostel style living space with minimal room I should be allowed to reserve the space to eat. Room service is non existent. You have to call to get new towels or your room serviced. I ran out of body wash. The king size bed is two twin mattresses so the middle is hard and uncomfortable. There wasn’t a lot of space for things but I managed to live comfortably for the 4 days I was there. The loft in my friend’s room was quite cozy. Had an issue with getting Laundry done. I was trying to get customer service in the lobby when the person who was working seemed to not be interested in any issues I was facing. Having a coin machine or an option to get coins would help. Selling the detergent in the lobby would help too. I had to walk back a fourth to the 7-11 to get soap and pesos (the ATM in the lobby didn’t work) because she didn’t take the time to explain what I needed to wash clothes. Overall it is a good space and you’ll get good value I’m just writing this review to help people along the way if they get confused as I did. Customer service was dependent on the individual. Rooftop was better customer service than the main lobby.

I stayed at Lub d Makati, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines on Sunday, 7 September in Room 304, and checked out the same day after a serious incident. My iPad was stolen after the in-room safe was forced open. Based on the timeline, the perpetrator may still have been in the room at the time of the theft.||||What went wrong (facts):|| • Security protocol breakdown. The manager later acknowledged the protocol was incorrectly/poorly executed.|| • No access control. People continued to enter/exit the room while an “investigation” was supposedly underway. Staff had to be prompted to check keycard/tag logs; even two hours later, access remained open.|| • Unprofessional, slow handling. There was no manager on duty and when asked to contact their Manager, Ericka tried to push the investigation to the next day, instead of generating the keycard logs right away. It seemed she didnt find it important to resolve the concern. |||| • No compensation. Not even the incident night was refunded; additional costs were mine alone.|||| • Report altered after the fact. Details were changed in a way that shifted blame toward me, despite my full compliance and correct use of the safe. Staff reported and recorded that I didn’t do my due diligence in protecting my belongings, by forgetting to lock the locker. ||||We didnt hear from them after 2 days, no attempt to reach out at all. The only reason we got any correspondence was because we showed up at the hostel, demanding an answer. The lack of urgency is embarrassing, even for a hostel. ||||The manager, didn’t seem to know what she was doing. She disnt care at all and gave templated responses, not really interested in showing empathy or any kind of accountability. ||||I am unsure if what has been reported internally is even accurate. I cannot absolutely say for sure if they actually conducted a thorough investigation since they never shared their own report and have so many inaccuracies. ||||I used to stay here frequently and recommended it. Lots of road noise getting through the windows. The beds are rather uncomfortable. Their King bed is fake. It's basically two twins put together and you can feel the springs and spine of the median. Lots of noise from the sounds in the hallways as well from constant doors being slammed to loud conversations from other people outside, which means a lack of soundproofing. All of which makes for poor sleep quality. Hence the low grades for the room and location. It's basically where the jeepney drives past and they make the most noise.

There's been some terrible Internet outage issues plaguing the hotel. Some lasting over 12 hrs! They claimed that it affected the whole Makati area, but it was a bold face lie. I found good Internet at other local restaurants and hotels in the area. And I don't get how they could've used their front desk computers if that was true. Found that really poor accountability. Their leadership also trained their staff with inaccuracies with regards to their policy information which was annoying and caused me monetary damages. They have policies on their own website that they couldn't even honor correctly for the longest time.

Housekeeping Staff annoyingly disregarded the do not disturb sign and woke me 3 times. One even entered without knocking while I was asleep. I had to address it 3 times to the front desk staff before they finally learned and stopped! Very disappointing! What was the point of a door sign if you're not even going to read it? There were some personal belongings of mine that's also gone missing over time 😑.

The restaurant also gave me a bill for a breakfast that I never ate. So fraudulent to accuse me like that. I found it rather rude when I was trying to speak to the server staff about it and he couldn't even be bother to look at me when I was talking to him. So rude! I think that was the moment I gave up and just decided to write this review. I really don't like writing these poor reviews publicly and try to give them chances to fix their act but it's been so many disappointments and grievances.

I've shared some of these sentiments in the past with the management and felt like it mostly just felt dismissed and ignored and filed away. I hope this public review will finally cause the management to wake up and improve on...
