Chowking — Restaurant in Mandaluyong

My "go to" fastfood for cheaper meals, plus it's very near. I don't have to walk too far or commute just to get a quick bite. Chao fan with lumpia or siomai toppings, as well as a few others, can be had below ₱100 when ordered a la carte.

There is a new item on the menu - 2pcs asado or bola-bola siopao at only ₱75. Tasted good. I liked it. But... These are mini siopao versions, mind you. Not your regular sized ones. As in, they are "dimsum-size." Only slightly larger than their siomai. I was caught unawares, thinking it would be bigger.

My main gripe with this store is that they normally only have a single payment lane. They may be unmotivated to open a second one. Rarely a third. Usually, they wait until the queue is very long or the order taking is very slow. Why slow? I've observed this many times. Lots of customers don't know what to order and only think about it when it's their turn, and worse, these customers have to ask their entire family/companions only at that moment when they should have discussed this beforehand. Cashier would constantly frown at each other as if they hate working together, inadvertently causing discomfort to customers. People would randomly bus out your tray and wipe your tables kahit nakaupo ka pa while finishing your drink, which makes you feel like you're being forced out of the store. Anong meron sa staff nyo?

Food has always been my guilty pleasure, but I'm not sure if I'll be recommending this specific store.

This restaurant always messes up my order via foodpanda.

Just now, I ordered Chck n Sauce Lauriat, and instead of delivering that, they just sent little chicken pieces and plain rice. No pancit, siomai, fried rice, crackers. Plus, the iced tea was not packed well so it spilled.

This was supposed to be my happy dinner after a long day. Now, I'm even more sad.

This is also the 2nd time they messed up my order. By now, I've learned my lesson -- I am never ordering from Chowking SM...
