I had high hopes for this shabu-shabu restaurant, but it ended up being a major letdown. The most glaring issue was the excessive use of vetsin (MSG) in almost every dish. Shortly after eating, we felt sluggish, bloated, and unusually sleepy a reaction that lingered for days. It was enough to make us seriously question the ingredients being used.
On top of that, the meat quality was shockingly poor. The beef and pork slices were thin, chewy, and lacked any real flavor or freshness. Some cuts even had an odd, off-putting smell that made them hard to eat. For a place that specializes in hotpot, this is completely unacceptable.
We tried giving the place another shot, hoping the first visit was just a fluke—but the issues were consistent. Between the overuse of chemical flavor enhancers and subpar meat, this place simply isn’t worth the price or the aftereffects.
If you're looking for a satisfying shabu-shabu experience with clean, quality ingredients, I’d strongly recommend...

As a hot pot restaurant, Healthy Shabu Shabu offers an array of super fresh ingredients ready to be cooked in a bubbling pot of broth. One dish that stood out was their striploin, which was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. What's great about this restaurant is that you have the decision on how you'd like your striploin to be cooked.
Overall, Healthy Shabu Shabu is a restaurant that is close to my heart. The spices and flavors that they use are all perfectly paired to create a healthy and sumptuous lunch. Plus, there's no MSG, making it a guilt-free option for those looking for a healthy meal. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a fresh and delicious lunch, Healthy Shabu Shabu should definitely be on your list of...
Read moreThe waiter sitting behind the sauces bar and serves dishes is the real troublemaker. When the initial spoon of hoisian sauce ran out, I went to the counter to add a spoon. He stopped me and said I need to pay for this. I gave away my PHP coins to streetside people and bought food for kids in Manila, but his attitude was commanding, the audacity. Another waiter had gave me second scoop of garlic when it ran out, nor did menu mention anything about paying for a spoonful of sauce. I offered him the spoonful of sauce and said "you can take it home".
Food is ok if you want a shabu. Personally I prefer hotpot with mushroom or tomato base than shabu, but this is the only viable option in the Podium. Oh portion is tiny.
No need to ruin my mood over this waitor, nor am I recommending this restaurant to anyone. Instead, this review will be shared widely.
