Update 02/26/25: I had my favorite Lor Mee again. But it is a bit hard to swallow that it costs 518 pesos now when I felt it was expensive before at around 395 I think last year. It's still really good, but the price makes it a meal I won't frequently have.
Update 10/19/23: Still great food and is worth the cost considering the serving. Really recommend their lor mee and garlic fried chicken!
Note: If they place an appetizer thing before you order, these have a charge of P50. So mention to them you don't want it or canceled out of your receipt at the end. In our receipt it was called "pica-pica".
June 2023: Overall experience was great and I would return here again to try some of their other food. Just note that it is pricey for most of their food in light of the serving size, but I'm willing to try more with the good experience here today.
First the soup was great. It's a small bowl for 138 pesos and is served per person, but the taste is great and I would say is worth the price. The texture of the small dumplings and seaweed and the slight sourness of the broth made it a great soup. I would recommend trying it.
We had dessert right after because we ate here after having dinner.
The glutinous rice cake is fun to eat and there is a lot of it so I would say it is worth the price. The texture is soft and with the peanuts and sesame seed to give it sweetness, it's addictive to just keep putting in your mouth.
The Loquat with herbed jelly was just so-so for me as personally it was a bit sweet, the jelly tastes like it has brown sugar mixed with it. But the loquat fruit itself was delicious for me, I would love to just eat that fruit as dessert.
No actual photos because the food looked good and tasted good we forgot to take photos.
Lastly I want to commend one of the waiters there who was very attentive. He would come to our table to ask us for what we need and took the initiative to ask if he should serve the dessert. So thank you to that waiter for the pleasant experience even when at the start when we entered, it seemed some of the staff in front were confused in leading us in.
Update: Ate here again and I ordered the bian rou soup again and it still tasted delicious. Also ordered the seafood lormee this time and it was great with the soup having a strong taste and the noodles having a nice...
Read moreWe celebrated my sister in law's birthday at PUTIEN at the Podium last Sunday. Our expectations is pretty high. It wouldn't be fair if we didn't since they have a Michelin star. The place was spacious and the ambiance definitely sets up the mood.
Their dishes didn't disappoint, that's for sure! Everyone enjoyed the Garlic fried chicken and the PUTIEN Lor Mee. Those are a must if you visit. The crispy oysters was also a hit. A dedicated dipping sauce would be a great upgrade for that dish. And don't sleep on the starter platter, the bamboo shoots and the home made bean curd is highly recommended. In the end, the stand outs for me are the garlic prawns, stir fried chili clams, and their shredded pork with sesame buns. Prepare to fight for it though, so i recommend ordering 2 or 3 if that's how you roll...
It is to be expected that the price range is higher than your normal asian centric restaurants. But they didn't earn that star for nothing.. A step up in quality and service for sure. The manager even helped us pick up the best options since it's our first time. I can't stress enough how helpful the staff are. i commend our waiter, it's a shame i failed to get his name. We enjoyed every dish, and we'll definitely...
Read morePutien is a one-star michelin restaurant which is very famous in hongkong and singapore. They have finally opened here in podium manila. The queue is quite long.
The putien seaweed claypot rice (good for 3pax) is okay, we partnered it with the Putien sweet and sour pork . Nothing special, but both are okay. We also got the shredded pork with sesame buns - very small portion, oily buns.
What we liked is the 100-second stewed yellow croaker. The ginger broth is very tasty that blends well with the fish. However, i think this is just good for 2pax. The putien lor mee is very very good (but zero star for presentation). I recommend this especially the broth, however this was served the last and very very slow service. We waited for almost 20min after we have eaten everything before the lor mee arrived.
We also got the hot loquat tea which is good. And for dessert, their lotus seed with white fungus soup is great.
Overall, the portion of the food is good for 2pax, so i find it quite expensive for the price based...
