I’ve been to multiple pungko-pungko spots, but this one in Mandaue? Definitely a must-visit. First off—the food is great. You get a crazy variety: longganisa, bola-bola, lumpia, crab meat, ngohiong, fried chicken, pork chop, ginabot, skinless, fried squid, and so much more. Everything was crispy, flavorful, and just chef’s kiss.
Second—the side sauce is so delicious. The white onion with vinegar mix? Absolute game-changer. It balances all the fried goodness perfectly. Plus, we had puso (the rice wrapped in leaves), which was half the size of a normal fist—small but just right. And for the ultimate combo? We paired it with Mountain Dew, and oh yes, it was perfect.
Now, a important tip! Keep track of what you eat! After your meal, the Ate will ask what you had, and honesty is the best policy. We wanted to make sure we paid for everything, so I had to pull out my phone and write it all down everytime we get something (because let’s be real, it’s so easy to lose count when the food is so good 😂).
Me and my boyfriend spent just around ₱300, and we were stuffed.
