Mckie's Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Manila

Was here for two nights during my time in Manila Both times were fun and a bit

Both times the place was very empty and not much happening at all - I had to kind of create my own atmosphere by talking to the bar staff - who were very friendly and chatty - and they were well up for some fun which was cool.

Both nights they had live music - but the first night's was pretty good - just a guy with an electric guitar but he was good.....and played requests. Good fun.

I was a little disappointed that one of the bar ladies tried to cheat me out of the bill by a bit - I was drunk but not that drunk and caught her red handed! Left a small bitter taste as I had bought them a few drinks previously and was the only company in the bar - but hell, I found dishonesty to be a general theme in my short stay in manila so what gives.

Overall - due to the lack of decent places in the town and not many late (very late) joints this is a good place to be, just keep your wits...

Overall the experience was underwhelming at best. The prices are okay, but so is 90% of Manila. Ordered the French fries to share to start, got potato slices instead with zero spices nor salt, and some were even uncooked. I had the beer battered fish, with French fries and salad, but came without salad, the same bland French fries as before, and the fish was not beer battered at all. Small advice: make your menu smaller to the things you actually have and offer instead of promoting stuff that you can’t prepare.
