AMBER — Restaurant in Manila

Amber is a family owned business and until now is not yet for public franchise. Hoping in the future it will be soon for franchise and to have this business. I really love the taste of Amber. They considered most requested handaan during company events and holiday party food. Spaghetti meal from their menu is the most I love. I went in T.M. Kalaw branch and the area is small. Few tables available as I believe they focus more on take outs. The bbq is mostly the people love to order and the pichi pichi. I haven't tried their puto yet. The chicken drumstick is ok for me (I thought it will be delicious but more arina as a local enthusiast foodie critic). Lumpia is really good as well. Newly open branch along Mabini road in front of Ermita Church. I was excited to bring my friends here for them to try Amber's famous food and delicacy. Upon ordering, the cashier's do the manual receipt. No available cash register. And keep on asking from the customer for a change which is quite irritating. We wait for 20 minutes for our order and to our dismay, the food are cold. We ask assistance from the staff but he insist that it's still hot. Very disappointing. We will try on other Amber's branch, but never again on Mabini branch. We try to talk to the manager but it looks like she doesn't care. What a nice surprise to see an Amber store outside of Makati!

As always, the perennial favorite will always be the pancit malabon and the pichi-pichi but for this evening I added 10 pieces of lumpiang shanghai. The three only costed me a little over ₱300 for a satisfying dinner!

Since this is also my first time inside an Amber store ( I am so used to delivery especially during office parties where Amber is and always be present as the ultimate favorite!) I am amazed to see that this store is not only limited to the goodies that I have known. There are a variety of pancits, there are beef and pork dishes as well as seafood and soups. They even have combo meals! All seems to be very heartily prepared.
