Pares ni Lakay (New Site) — Restaurant in Manila

Very disappointing. Wasted my time and effort going up and down the street looking for a place that is very difficult to find. Arrived noontime Saturday and there were about 7-8 people there. Walked to the counter with some ready prepared meats in small containers. I asked for the meal to go. The nice female employee packed everything separate as I requested. She poured the 4 small pieces and 2 kidney bean sized of lechon kawali into the plastic container. Not the same as the photos. The most unappetizing of all were the small thin sliced pieces of gray meat she said "cow's meat." Did not eat them. That colored rice was hard and the soup was very spicy that after tasting it, I threw it away. Save your time, effort and money. Go to Ongpin St. instead. I was ready to leave when I saw the meat and the soup in a big cauldron but my curiosity won. My first pares for PH110 and it was unappetizingly...

Third time an its consistent with how everything is cooked The taste it lingers from chomp to burp, all its goodness

Bang for your buck. Awesome ilocano flair just like you're in ilocos. Dinakdakan more please can get enough of it

Found this hidden gem in Binondo-Escolta area. Super sarap and nagustuhan ko yung pag incorporate ng lechon kawali sa pares. Consistent yung crispy-ness ng lechon kawali kahit nakalublob sya sa pares soup.

It was also affordable- Php 115 as far as I recall as of March 5, 2022.

Do not expect that this place is posh/pang sossy. Expect na may naglalaba, nagpa-park ng sasakyan, naninigarilyo, nagwawalis, while you are eating.
