The booking was quick and friendly but on the day of the event which was on September 24, 2017 I was upset about and give them this terrible rating. I experienced dining at Max in Union City and the food serving was really great. First of all. the party supposed to start at 12:00 PM and we were let in passed that time, we were there 15 minutes earlier. I have no idea how two of our guests were able to come in and seated at the birthday room ahead of us but when we arrived they did not let us to come in. So we had to stay outside at the front while mingling and guests started coming. We booked for 30 persons. We were told that there was a sound system and there was none, the food served timely. All the food we preordered were all served but unbelievable the serving supposed for 5 persons was only for two person, the plate was quite small and even myself alone would be able to finish it. So we were supposed to be there for 3 hours but after one hour there was no food to eat, there was no leftover aside from the cake. There was a party of 10 persons came in late so we added extra serving. Well I am telling you each table that supposed to be for 10 only had 7-8 so there supposed to more food left. The server was nice and friendly but that was not enough to compensate my frustration. It was a rip off, we paid $536.94 for like 34 people. I am so disappointed even the food did not taste as it supposed to be and the temperature was not right either. I voiced my concern to the Manager but she did not do anything to...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Max's Restaurant
I recently visited Max's Restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed by the quality of the food and the service. It’s clear that the standards have significantly dropped.
The Pancit Canton was outright disgusting. The overwhelming taste of chicken and pork liver completely masked any other flavors. The shrimp looked so sad and unappetizing, the sauce was bland, and there were barely any vegetables—only three small julienned slices of carrot.
The famous chicken, which used to be a highlight, was shockingly dry and lacked the juiciness it was once known for. However, the most disappointing dish was the Fresh Lumpia. It was mostly just egg wrapper with hardly anything inside. The portion size has become so small compared to what they served before—an absolute letdown.
To make matters worse, the restaurant has dramatically increased its prices since the pandemic. Higher prices should come with better quality and servings, but instead, it seems the food has become worse while portions have shrunk.
And to make the experience even more horrible, they got our orders wrong not just once but twice, which meant we had to wait double the amount of time. This added unnecessary frustration to an already disappointing meal.
This was a deeply unsatisfying experience, and I can confidently say I will not be dining at Max's Restaurant again.

Read moreI have always loved Max's until recently. I just noticed that 1-Max's Chicken has declined in quality and consistency. For the first time, at one branch, I didnt liked how they tasted. Then on another, it was ok. It's not enjoyable to dine now as it was then. 2-Max's food has gotten quite expensive. I feel that the price at Max's do not match the quality of their food or serving, and the dining ambience. Entitled much, Max? 3-Service is mediocre. It takes quite a while to be attended. It takes much longer for your change or receipt to be given back. Short staffed maybe? 4-Dont order their Kare Kare, it's 90% bland, peanut sauce. If its beef kare kare, you wont find a lot of beef. If its veggie kare kare, you wont find a lot of veggies. Not worth your money. Don't order Buko Pandan, it's 99% gulaman and flavoring, with a rare strip/s of coconut. Don't order gulaman, you can get sick fr too much syrup and flavoring.
If you must eat at Max's, manage your expectations bec branches are not consistent.
I would consider other restaurants first, unless I really crave for their chicken, which do not come by often these days. The same goes with Aristocrat, but that's...
