We were prepared to expect a good time at Gaia Cafe, the Sagada diner made famous by the 2014 indie rom-com, That Thing Called Tadhana. Good turned into great in a matter of minutes as soon as we stepped in however. Not only was the quiant little place amazingly pretty but the views it offered of the Ambasing Valley and Kapay-aw rice terraces below took our breath away.
For lunch, we were offered the bestsellers which were all healthy and organic dishes that the cafe is also famous for. What shall I say but these are definitely food to live for! 😍 ❤ Vegetarian Chips with cashew sour cream dip; ❤Crispy Tofu Steak with homemade cashew sauce with unpolished rice; ❤ Vegetarian Adobo with unpolished rice; ❤ Both were served with side dish of Salad Mix with sesame honey mustard dressing; ❤ Organic Fruit Juices (Lemon & Carrots).
The Gaia experience today not only fed our tummies but our souls as well. It was hands down, the perfect lunch that Sagada has prepared for us. #SagadaStories #LetsGuide

Read moreGawani is such a great host! And the rest of her staff simply extends the warmth of Sagada to every customer! I feel at home whenever I visit Gaia. My trip to Sagada is never complete without visiting Gaia. It makes my long bus ride so worthwhile. I love the fact that it supports locals! Food is created from locally sourced ingredients and I have tried almost everything in the menu and they’re all delicious - truly made with love! I had a chance to have a really good chat with the owner and admire her vision of growing a sustainable community by supporting locally grown/made products. Sustainability that starts within one’s own community, if applied to every town in the country can create such a wonderful impact in the economy and ecology. If every one can be aware of this and make even the smallest effort in realizing and sustaining this vision, then we are all waking and walking towards a better world, our future is looking...
Read moreThis place is my favorite restaurant in Sagada. THE VIEW of the rice terraces is beautiful.
They open 0900 to 1800. And it's a bit of a walk from town proper which I would say 30 mins going to the cafe and 45 mins going back to town proper.
They serve vegetarian food, and I must say I AM IMPRESSED. The tofu steak I ordered was delecious ( I don't eat tofu cause it's bland) but they made it so flavourful. I love their hot chocolate as well as it's made with native (tablea) chocolate.
Ambiance : The place is quite relaxing as it is far from the town proper. They have a good playlist of music. The cafe gives out an artistic vibe to it.
Lastly, I admire the fact that they are a zero watse establishement. And try to give back to mother nature,as such in a place...
