Nanbantei Alabang offers a delightful Japanese dining experience, specializing in yakitori and other traditional dishes. The restaurant exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, with its tasteful decor and comfortable seating arrangements. While the menu boasts a wide array of options, the yakitori is undoubtedly the star of the show.
During a recent visit, the yakitori surf and turf proved to be an exceptional culinary creation. The succulent seafood, perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor, complemented the tender and juicy meat, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. Each skewer was a testament to the chef's expertise in grilling and seasoning, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.
However, the steak yakitori presented a slight challenge. While the flavors were undoubtedly on point, the steak itself was a tad tough to chew. This minor setback, though, was swiftly and professionally handled by the attentive service staff. Their prompt response and courteous demeanor turned a potential disappointment into a testament to their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Beyond the yakitori, Nanbantei Alabang offers a diverse menu that caters to various preferences. From fresh sashimi and flavorful sushi rolls to hearty donburi bowls and comforting noodle dishes, there is something to please every palate. The quality of the ingredients is evident in each dish, and the presentation is always meticulous.
The service at Nanbantei Alabang is commendable. The staff members are knowledgeable about the menu, readily offering recommendations and answering any questions with patience and enthusiasm. They are attentive to diners' needs, ensuring that water glasses are filled, and tables are cleared promptly. Their genuine warmth and willingness to go the extra mile contribute to a pleasant and memorable dining experience.
Overall, Nanbantei Alabang is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic and enjoyable Japanese culinary journey. The yakitori surf and turf is a standout dish, showcasing the restaurant's mastery of grilling techniques and flavor combinations. While the steak yakitori may require some improvement in terms of tenderness, the exceptional service and diverse menu options more than compensate for this minor shortcoming. With its inviting atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and attentive service, Nanbantei Alabang is a true gem in the local...
Read moreFinally got to dine at Nanbantei of Tokyo ATC as we had to dine elsewhere last time since the wait was too long.
Best to arrive before 12noon if dining for lunch for a reasonable wait time.
The restaurant has an alfresco dining and a 2-story indoor dining. The wait staff attendant at the door will manage wait expectation and hand a menu, should you be willing to wait.
For this meal, we tried four types of rice bowl -- Grilled Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Grilled Chicken Bowl, Beef Bowl, and Tonkatsu Bowl and ordered some sides or California Maki and miso soup to go with it.
Out or all we ordered, the grilled ones were the best, with the just-right smokey flavor that doesn't overpower the natural taste of good ingredients to shine. Hands down, the grilled pork belly rice bowl was our favorite.
The sides of California Maki and soup were served ahead of our rice bowl order but we found the miso soup too lukewarm vs their complimentary scalding hot house tea. The California Maki could be a bit more creamy with some mayo.
The staff were courteous but not very attentive since we had to call their attention multiple times for insufficient quantity of utensils and beverages, and bill request, which is easily printable at the 2nd floor service area where we were seated.
Not sure if there's an ongoing promo but as our receipt arrived, there was a note at the bottom that says we are entitled to a free Tori Karaage on our next visit.
Overall, we'll remember Nanbantei of Tokyo for their good food. Will...
