I popped into The Shakey's branch on the corner of the Phoenix gas Station last night as I finished errands late and had no time to whip up dinner for a family probably starving by the time I got home. Have to say that this branch seems pretty much more well-adjusted to the COVID situation, well beyond other eating places, in comparisson, who are currently operational as well. In fact, I found their set up to be quite brilliantly witty and I don't even know if they are aware of it. As u enter (after all required disinfection done outside), the dining area is to your FAR right. Just a few booth tables, abiding by social dist protocols. The take out area is on your immediate left, which is just a little rectangular space, with 6(?) spaced chairs. Surrounded by a layer of dining tables put together to makeshift a counter that frames the space, and on it, access to their menus for easy browsing. Behind this counter further left, on a 3rd layer, is the cashier. Behind the cashier is what I see as a 4th layer, which is just a single path enclosing the 3 layers described, but along which all areas, whether within it or past it, are accessible on different angles, from it. The 5th layer in front of you begins with a view of the kitchen counter access, while the entry to the restrooms are on same layer but, tucked behind the cashier to your FAR left.
If u draw out what i kust described, u might see they are configured like a little solar system with ever station on its own orbital path and the cashier as its nucleus. As I said, brilliant .... and witty.
So they are operational. take outs can slip in, order and get out. Dine ins eat with company, but secluded. Everything quick and easy. And a bonus: the staff are still friendly.
Good job, hope this branch is a...
Read moreThis is a review of the branch in West Gate Alabang. I actually enjoy Shakey's and have had my Supercard for over 5 years now, why I enjoy the food. This branch though, was my first visit to dine in as I was on my lunch break. The staff was not friendly, they were running around too busy to entertain my order, and was very transactional. There was no brewed coffee, as they said their machine was broken. My only order was bunch of lunch and it took more than 45 minutes to get cooked, but the frustrating part was the chicken was the only thing that's freshly cooked, and I know chicken doesn't take that long. The pizza was cold, the spaghetti was cold, and the soup was cold. When the kitchen was done with my food, they left it on the counter and didn't bother to tell the servers that it was ready, so it took an additional 5min with the food just sitting there. The last part, which was supposed to be the fastest, the "bill out" took extra long as the cashier was multi-tasking taking orders while processing my bill, and it wasn't even crowded, I dined at around 5pm, with only 2-3 other customers in the dining area. I'm never going back to this...
Read moreThe store is dirty. A place like this inside Filinvest Corporate City can make customers lose their appetite. A restaurant should look neat and cozy to make it very appetizing to eat. Upon arriving inside, a female server approach us and pointed us our table THAT IS NOT EVEN BUSS and very dirty because of the previous people who used the table. We had to stand for like 5mins just to wait for the server to clean the table. She’s not even prioritizing to clean it when assisted us to our table, she’s busy accommodating customers with their needs to other table which we find very rude and inappropriate in food&bev industry. Even the Manager on duty lacks initiative to ask us why we are standing. Mind you, there are only 2 table with customers tonight and they can’t even see us if we need something and why are we still standing. Ceiling is leaking, I have no idea why maybe it’s because of their air-condition inside. VERY VERY POOR EXPERIENCE FROM THIS BRANCH. I just thought it would be different since this is located in Filinvest City.. this branch is the...
