Amazing southern barbecue restaurant in Subic. My wife and I had visited here five years ago and were captivated by the decor of the restaurant and had to try out their offerings. Well, to make this review concise, we came back again for the same reason we were glad to eat here then. We arrived in Subic five years ago to spend the American holiday known as Thanksgiving. Upon arrival at our hotel we were curious if anywhere served the typical fare that is typical for this holiday meal. The hotel recommended Texas Joe's as a place that might, since Subic was at one time the largest U S Navel Base outside the country. Well for that same reason then we were once again in Subic for Thanksgiving (2018). The restaurant didn't disappoint us this time just as it didn't the last time we had Thanksgiving dinner there . Let me say this, when walking into the restaurant you forget right away that you are in the Philippines. The atmosphere is pure southwestern, right down to the old time western movie's being shown on the televisions throughout the restaurant. Can't skip mentioning the beauty of the waitresses who are neatly attired in the theme of Texas Joe's. The meal was just the thing that even my philipino wife was enjoying a holiday meal she fell in love with back at home in Virginia, by the way it is known as the birth place of Thanksgiving, some other place not mentioned may disagree but at least we can claim to be one of the two for this tradition. As for the rest of the menu, offerings of southern barbecue abound, and by the looks of the amount of patrons, philipino as well as foreign, it must be delicious. Our Thanksgiving meals before as now, well we did return again specifically for Thanksgiving dinner, can't say much...

Before going there, we called their number to ask if we could make a reservation, but they told us they don’t accept reservations, only walk-ins.

You don’t need to worry where to park since they have a parking area.

When we arrived, we were greeted by someone in a cowboy costume who was very polite. The customer service in this place is excellent; they truly value their customers, making the trip well worth it.

We ordered the T-bone steak and Ribeye steak. Our food arrived in just about 15 minutes. We also requested a lot of extras, like additional ranch and A1 sauce. Although we had to wait around 10 minutes for the A1 sauce, it was understandable since the place was almost packed by then. Hahaha!

In terms of the food, it was worth the 15-minute wait. The steak portions were very much worth the price. You can check their menu on their website, and the prices listed there are accurate.

There are plenty of side options to choose from, so that’s not a problem. The Ribeye steak we ordered was very tender and juicy. The taste wasn’t too salty and suited my Filipino palate, depending on how it was cooked. The T-bone steak, even the fat, was very flavorful. The T-bone was served well-done, while the Ribeye was served medium-rare (based on your preference).

Overall, the experience was absolutely worth it, especially if you're visiting specifically to try their steak.

I absolutely love this place. Would drive down from AC every weekend to eat there and chat with the owner and staff. The quality of food is best in the region. Service was always top-notch. Location is convenient and right there at Subic Bay, close to shopping and tourist destinations.

Update: Just visited Subic and, of course, had to hit Texas Joes. It's still the most amazing restaurant in Subic, possibly pampanga. The staff had recognized me even though I hadn't been there for years. The owner came up and sat and had a couple of drinks with me and made me feel like I'd never left. The food was so good and I ate there 2 days in a row. Because the menu is so fast and cover. There are so many wonderful comfort foods like old-fashioned corn bread. Loved the onion loaf and cooked perfect, not greasy and golden brown. Loved the slaw with my BBQ pork sandwich The Rib sampler was perfect. The quality of food is so fresh and must be delivered daily. But the most amazing is the staff, which take real ownership and are polite, product knowledgeable, and customer centric. They still remembered me after 8 yrs knew my favorite drink and food choices. If you miss Texus Joes when you are in Subic, then you missed one of the most iconic restaurants in town.
