It’s our first time at Enbu, and we expected a lot since this is a Japanese restaurant at Okada Manila. Here’s how I rated the categories. ✅ Food You may notice that my rating is 4/5. It’s not that there’s something wrong with their food but we were expecting something extraordinary. We ordered tuna sashimi, miso ramen, California maki, gyoza and salmon yakimono. For us only the tuna sashimi was special the rest was ordinary (we’ve eaten at a lot of Japanese restaurants that’s why we can say that it’s not any different from others) ✅ Service Since the restaurant is in Okada Manila, they did a pretty good job in terms of Customer Service. Starting with welcoming us to the restaurant (no wait time even though it’s dinner time and no reservations), leading us to our table (even putting the table napkins on our laps), taking our orders, and serving our orders promptly. They also served appetizers ahead of the main course which some restaurants don’t do properly. So 5/5 for Service. ✅ Athmosphere Really like the Japanese decorations and setting. Like the music, it’s not that loud but you can still hear it. We even got to watch the fountain (amazing right!). Also like the lightings. If you prefer dim lighting you can eat at their bar tables, otherwise you can eat at the main dining area. All in all we still recommend this restaurant if you’re craving for Japanese food whenever you are in this area.

Minimalist by design with over the top accents. I'm sure there is a more proper design term for their theme, but that's how I would describe their interior. Overall it looks really modern and pleasing. As for their menu, I'm glad they had set meals as it was already late and we didn't want to spend more time checking several pages of their menu. Our order came with tempura, tuna sashimi, salmon and karaage. But the highlight of course was the beef steak. It came with its own grilling pot so you can decide the doneness of your meat. To be honest the portion was a little small but the meat was oh so tender. I also removed the miso paste which did not go well with the steak in my opinion. The karaage was crispy and meaty my kid loved it. A little pricey so I would recommend eating here during special occasions only. I have one in mind already and I can't wait to try their yakitori bar/sets.

2/5 Food are just okay, might not visit again. 普通的食物，未必再光顧 (中英雙語，Chinese and English review) This hotel is still the biggest in manila now, so make extra time for yourself to find the restaurant. Very bright attractive red lanterns all over the sealing. Pre-order for the bar table for our group, cos would be great to watch the chef prepare our food. Is not what I expected, cos they actually grill mostly behind the high grilling station. But where we sit are facing the big water fountain, which we could see the fountain show while we hving the dinner, and if you want a closer look, you can always walk out there, is very close and a really good spot. Let’s get back to the taste of the food, unfortunately is not too good. Clams are nice, grilled daily fish is not bad, but I forgot to ask does it have a lots of bone. Foie gras is okay, I didn’t expected I will actually like the dessert macha cheese cake the most as I’m not a dessert person at all. Everything else, appetizer, sashimi, tempura, main, is not worth it here. Came here to eat lunch. Ordered Tendon and ube matcha latte. The staff told me the food will arrive 15-20mins. I waited and the ube matcha latte came more than 20mins. Followed up my order of tendon from the 30-40mins mark. After 1hr+ of waiting, I asked again and looks like they didn’t even started the dish. One of the staff, that looked like a manager, told me that they could have it rushed within 4 minutes. It’s so unprofessional letting a guest wait for long and then offer to rush the dish. I don’t want to think how the quality of that food would be and cause my mood has already been spoiled. So I decided to decline and just not continue eating there. They wasted my time and I had to continue with my day plans. The restaurant wasn’t even full of guests. The staff were idly chatting with each other or their heads were down not paying attention to the guests. I’ve raised my hand a couple of times and really had to exert effort for them to notice me. I have also noticed other guests expressions weren’t so great when they were dining in. When it came to paying the bill, they had typed it wrong in the machine and asked me to pay again cause of the miscalculation. Paid the balance then left with a dissatisfied experience.

Atmosphere Very elegant looking and expensive. Youll have plenty of waiting time so might as well take the opportunity for a photo or 2. Food I was hoping to experience a wow factor. I am coming from a person who knows a very good japanese resto and this being more upscale made me expect a lot more. Menu is quite ok to navigate but not really pointing you out to better options. One thing on the menu i got impressed was the skewers though. The rest are expected. Service Again, it being one of okada's signature resto, i jad hoped for a better dining service and experience. Not sure if it was because the place had lots of customers but oh my, we added about 20mins wait before we got our bill, unfortunately looked like they forgot about when we asked the first time. Still some room to improve. The place has just started their service back then. Will i go back? Maybe not anytime soon...

The restaurant looks intimidating and expensive from the outside, but it's actually reasonably priced, similar to other Japanese restaurants in popular malls. The food is great, the portions are generous, and the presentation is on point. 😍👍 The simple pork curry was my favorite. 🍛😋 The specialty beverages are a bit pricey, ranging from 200 to 230 pesos per glass, and they're just average in taste. 💸😐 If you're looking for a drink, stick to beer or water. 🍺 The kushiyaki was okay, but some of the meat was tough and chewy. 🤔🤷♀️ Not sure if it was just our order or if it's always like that. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I'll definitely be back to try more dishes from their menu. 😋💯 #JapaneseFood
