ALL MARKETING BUT NO CLOUT!!
The website advertised a price for a small cabana for under PHP9000 but the actual cost was over PHP11,000. The website also stated that there are free shuttle transfers from landmark locations across Manila. It was never communicated to me that my guests needed to have an Okada membership card or government issued ID with them to be able to board the bus. It took 10 minutes for the bus driver to verify he could transport my group and I to Okada. Upon arrival, it was as if the receptionist was not expecting me and my party. I needed to show them my confirmation of booking and payment emails that a) they were already emailed by me and b) they should have already had noted somewhere on their system. Communication is severely flawed and therefore reflects a difficult rather than seamless stream of processes. I found the Cove itself highly pretentious. It was a place where nearly everyone was there for the perfect 'selfie' and it lacked anything that could be considered authentic. At best, the pool was an over-glorified paddle (or wading) pool. I thought that with a hire of the small cabana, a jacuzzi would go with it. This was not the case, yet this was not clearly communicated until I was reprimanded for getting into the jacuzzi. In general the customer service was OK. Perhaps where I'm from, a 'beach' includes sand and there was no sand at The Cove. The best part about the whole experience was the food, the impressive glass structure itself, and the cleanliness of the venue. For that reason, I raised it from 1 star to 2 stars in this review. I found it well looked-after, and the cleaners and servers I found to be hard-working.
Altogether, I felt that The Cove's marketing team do an absolutely sterling job since they have truly been able to sell a dream that in reality was an experience of a meaningless, soulless photo venue serving the human ego and its...
Read moreSuperb entertainment destination in Manila! I've never seen any super club in the Philippines like this before. I would say Vegas party is in Manila already!
HUGE and elegant place. You can choose where do you like to stay. Either in the private cabanas with Jacuzzis, in the open area where pool is or in the DJ's booth area where you can rave. Additional entertainment is the World of Wonders. A performing group of dancers, acrobats and special acts to set the mood.
Wide variety of food and drinks. Excellent service and friendly staff. Food attendants and waitresses are gorgeous Filipinas and Expats.
Plenty of toilet. ATM is also available inside. Smoking is allowed. Parking is free. Security is tight.
The best part is, it's inside Okada. So you can do casino after or...
Read moreIt was a great place if you just want to swim and relax. Although it's hard to reach them by phone. I don't think you can talk to any staff via phone cause the phone number written on their website is the trunkline to Okada Manila and they will just transfer you to the customer service of the hotel.
My daughter accidentally left hers and her son's swimsuit and only realized it the following day. We tried caliing them but they just transferred our call to the customer service who told us that he will call Cove Manila and ask if they found the swimsuits. When we called back they informed us that the cleaner did not see them and that they were not in the Lost & Found either. Weird cause there were'nt much guests that time and we were the last to leave from...
