In our culinary journey, Mesa has consistently been the haven we turn to when the desire for rich and flavorsome Filipino dishes beckons. It stands as a beacon of Filipino culinary excellence in our hearts.
Taste and Presentation: On our recent visit, we indulged in their Eggplant Ensalada, a dish that never ceases to impress. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, with the bagoong lending its distinctive punch without an overpowering fishy taste. The vegetable dishes continued to shine. Their vegetables retained their crunch, adding a delightful texture to each bite. Our only wish is that they'd offer more purely vegetarian options, as most of their vegetable dishes are paired with meat. It's worth noting, however, that we observed slightly smaller servings compared to our previous visits, which left us yearning for more of their delectable creations.
Service and Ambiance: Our culinary adventure at Mesa was punctuated by efficient and prompt service. The dishes arrived at our table with impressive swiftness, a testament to their commitment to customer satisfaction. The restaurant exuded an inviting and clean ambiance, creating the ideal backdrop for a delightful dining experience.
In the end, Mesa continues to be a pillar of exceptional Filipino cuisine, a place where flavors come alive and authenticity thrives. Despite the slight decrease in portion sizes, it remains a top choice for savoring the essence of Filipino...
Read moreI love this restaurant. I'd go here every time I'm in Manila. However, I was disappointed the last time I was here. I was only in Manila for 1day and I decided to eat here as I have to go back to US that same day. I ordered my usual meal the sisig, hito with green mango on the spoon, liempo, shrimp with butter and salted egg, and green mango shake. When our order came, the waiter place the set of hito on the spoon from their tray to our table but the spoon slip as she was placing it in our table. There were about 6-8 spoon per set. One spoon fell and she took that one away. She said sorry but I was expecting her to replace it with another one because it was her fault. When my cousin ask her about giving us a new one, she was surprise and told us that she'll ask her boss. She came back and said that if they replace that one spoon, she had to replace the whole set and that they'd charge it on her paycheck. I can't believe what I was hearing. Of course her guilt tripping worked and I said never mind. I just thought that they should just willingly replace it rather than making me feel guilty about what she did. I think customer service is very important especially when we're...
Read moreIt’s not my first time in MESA though my first was in Davao. This is my 2nd time in MESA Rob Galleria. I first tried their Halo-halo. And I can say for a person who like halo-halo, this should be your go to place. The price is affordable too as you can get it for only 135 pesos (make sure to check when I posted this review as prices may change depending on when you have seen my review).
I went back here really for the Halo-halo but since it’s dinner, we also ordered Kare-Kare.
Will I recommend their Kare-kare? Hmmnnn... not really. Nothing special or made it stand out with the rest of the restaurants serving the same dish. It’s sweeter than expected. The serving is good for two for only 390 pesos. The presentation... hmmm they can do better than that. It doesn’t look appetizing.
And the Halo-halo didn’t taste as good as the last time I ordered it. The plaintain is also a little tougher than my first try.
Razon’s Halo-halo is better though Mesa’s Halo-halo has a lot more ingredients and it has Ice...
