Rating my personal experience at TalaBar a 4 out 5. Missing one star for 2 significant reasons: Reason 1: I booked a reservation for 20 pax for my office / clinic anniversary and we got 4 tables juxtaposed to each other— imagine 4 square tables for 20 pax— and we ordered gazillion of food and drinks that night (see picture). They tried putting dishes and drinks on our table, kept serving and serving, yet there is no space on the table. Implored to the servers that we needed another table coz food doesn’t fit on our table anymore but took them some time to provide another table as they tried to figure out how and where they are to place that extra table. Eating our food felt hurried — again due to limited space and they had to bus out our orders one way or another. I guess bringing in 20 people is a bad idea. Reason 2: Parking issues. So grandia place building also houses other food and pharmacy establishments. If you are to count the parking slots within the vicinity, it is ridiculously limited — for the amount of establishment they have. Hence, you end up parking on the street. Now you may ask what is the problem with parking on the street? Street itself is a one way street. So if there is no parking close to Grandia Place, you may end up parking at the very end of that street or worse, you may need to drive around again. Their parking spot is not PWD or ELDERLY friendly. So giving you a heads up on this one.
Food and drinks are beyond wonderful. Well put together and greatly concocted. The splendid food and drinks just didnt match the restaurant experience my team and I had. Thanks for...
Read moreI've been to this restaurant three times already, and it has never disappointed me. I love everything on their menu. I'm not an oyster connoisseur, but I'd say they’re pretty good, especially considering I'm a picky eater. Their Chicken Ala King is my favorite! I’m not sure if that’s the exact name on the menu, but it’s something similar. The serving size is perfect for two people—we couldn’t even finish it!
My go-to drink here is their white sangria. It has a fruity, vibrant flavor with a tropical twist, thanks to the lychee and calamansi. The calamansi adds a refreshing citrusy tang, balancing the sweetness of the lychee. The ginger ale gives it a light effervescence and subtle warmth that works well with the fruity notes. The spice syrup introduces a cozy depth with a hint of spice, while the smoky flavor (possibly from a smoked spice or charred fruit) adds a surprising complexity that lingers on your palate. Overall, it’s a light and refreshing drink with layers of fruity sweetness, a touch of spice, and a delightful smoky finish.
The sizzling beef sinigang is another must-try, especially if you're having lunch. It pairs perfectly with white rice—don’t pair it with fried rice, you’ll regret it! I've ordered a variety of dishes at Talabar and enjoyed every single one of them.
In summary, Talabar offers consistently delicious dishes with generous portions and a wide range of flavors. Whether you're a fan of rich, hearty meals like the Chicken Ala King or looking for a refreshing drink like their white sangria, there’s something for everyone. It’s definitely worth returning to time...
Read moreTalabar Kitchen & Café in Mother Ignacia, Quezon City, is an excellent spot for a fresh oyster fix. Our group of six started with four platters of oysters, but they were so good that we couldn’t resist ordering two more—one plate for each of us! The oysters, sourced locally from Aklan, were perfectly sized and delicious, whether you prefer them fresh or cooked 💯
The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and it wasn’t too crowded when we visited, which added to the enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating from start to finish, making us feel welcome the entire time. We were also treated to complimentary nori chips, though they disappeared so quickly that we didn’t even manage to snap a photo! 🤣
What really enhanced the overall vibe was the great soundtrack playing in the background—it set a nice mood for the meal. We also tried a few cocktails, which were a bit on the sweeter side but still refreshing and beautifully presented.
In terms of pricing, we found it fair for the quality and portion sizes, especially considering the freshness of the oysters. The entire experience was worth every peso. While oysters are the star, Talabar’s menu offers more than just seafood. They have a variety of other dishes that are definitely worth trying, and I've already enjoyed a few. There are still several items on the menu I’m looking forward to exploring on my next visit.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience at Talabar Kitchen & Café. If you're an oyster lover—or just looking for a great dining spot with a diverse menu—this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back for more!...
