I booked a few night at the Hive, prior to my departure from the Philippines, based on location and the reviews. Sadly the reviews do not do this location justice.

Upon my arrival I was asked to show my confirmation as I used a online provider to make the booking. This was the same as most of my other bookings. The lady at the front desk then asked me to email my confirmation to them.... Not my normal experience, but ok. And the rest of my experience with the staff could be summed up as, "meh." Not terrible. Not Rude or nasty. But just unremarkable.

I was given room 409, and sadly this is where it gets ugly.

But let me start with this. The hotel does have a unique decor. It's supposedly and "earth-friendly hotel." And I'm really not about to check every nook and cranny, I'm just going to go with it. This property seems to focus on family gatherings, in my opinion. Most of the rooms are 2 twins and other rooms have pass-throughs. The Sky Garden has a decent enough view, but could benefit from having some ceiling fans to circulate the air for the guests who wish to dine. This area serves as their largest dining area, but my guess is often too hot for guest to eat comfortably.

There is another sort of "restaurant" where they serve food, and have live entertainment. But it seems to me to serve as an afterthought. It's rather small and you have to exit the hotel to get to it, even though it's next door.

I did not use In-Room-Dining, so I can't comment on that or the food. The room was ok. It wasn't small, but the 2 twins made it more cramped than it should've been. The couch at the far end under the window, that is port of a porthole, had a trundle bed, that you can barely pull out because of the 2 twin beds. The door looks like they just replaced it as it still had guidelines for where the hole for the peephole should go. The bathroom is the true horror. First off it's a small zig-zag space. There's water damage on the door jam leading in to the bathroom. The shower head, one that is a hose type, is hanging on a laundry string in the shower, not on a mount; that's missing. speaking of missing, the handle to she shower door on the inside is missing. people shorter than me would have an issue leaving the shower as the door open inwards. This room, in my opinion, should've...

||We had a wonderful stay at Hive Hotel!|Kudos and heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Hannah for handling our concerns with such professionalism and friendliness — she truly made a difference in our experience. She's definitely an asset to Hive Hotel, along with Marce, JC, and Joan, who were all very kind and accommodating throughout our stay.||The food was great, and the service they provided was impressive. One small suggestion: it would be even better if Hive Hotel had its own in-house restaurant for easier and faster on-the-spot orders.||When we checked in to Room 304, the room itself was great — clean, comfortable, and well-prepared. However, we noticed that the lighting inside was quite dim, and the outside noise was very loud. It might be worth checking the window, as it could possibly be broken or not sealing properly.||Overall, we had a fantastic experience, thanks to the amazing team. Looking forward to...

I enjoyed the modern-retro interior of their lobby and their hallways. The selection of books in their lobby bookshelf is my kind of reads. They have a business center were yoy can connect and serve as workstation, i really liked the chairs there. The event hall was really nice as well. The rooms were quite cozy. Clean towels and bathrooms. The breakfast and the food served at the seminar were delicious too. The only thing i have to suggest to the management was the sky garden. It doesnt look like a well maintained garden anymore. And the floor details are hazardous.

This is the most funky but also eco-friendly hotel that I've been to. The interior design and the over-all concept are soooo amazing. Teach me, master. Hahahaha. Although the design is obviously modern, still there are touches of old and classy concept that makes it really really unique. More so, the staffs were accommodating, the session hall can also accommodate at least 50 pax (or more, since there are wall dividers in the function halls) and the food was also great.
