Nautilus bar is a rooftop bar in Quezon city. As far as rooftop bars are concerned, this place does have nice views. There's an al fresco area as well as a smaller air conditioned area. It's attached to a Japanese restaurant so you can order the the Nautilus menu as well as from the Japanese menu. However, I found the food to be quite ordinary and the sashimi was so-so. I ordered a pasta dish, a pizza, and baked oysters aside from the sashimi. Prices are ok. There's a parking lot accessible from the street besides the hotel where Nautilus is located at. However, you'll need to transfer elevators to get to the rooftop. The thing though is, the second elevator is a joke and I felt unsafe in it. I recommend taking the stairs.

Visiting The Nautilus Bar the first after hearing some good feedback from a friend is what I am looking forward to. It is located near Hi-Top, along Quezon Ave. There’s a parking slot available when we visited the place. The bar is located at the top of hotel. Upon entering the bar, you will be awed with the overlooking view of Quezon City. Afraid of not getting a seat immediately, we booked a reservation ahead of time. Upon seating, we then ordered the following: Chicken Teriyaki and Pork Katsudon. In addition, we ordered Dragon Maki and Gyoza. We also ordered some drinks: Amaretto Sour, Jager Bomb. It was delicious and affordable. We were also graced with a band.

We wanted to try the cocktails here and the place looked promising. However, it was jampacked and there were smokers outside. We decided to stay inside at Okujo Japanese restaurant. You can order from the japanese resto drinks from the Nautilus Bar. However, the cocktails have less spirits and more of ice and lemon. Cuba libre was meh. Mojito was more of sweet, and we cannot taste the white rum at all. Drinks: 3/5 Ambience: 3/5 (sorry can’t stand the smoke!) Customer service of Okujo: 6/5

We were appalled with the service and found that it could well be improved.

We made dinner plans for a table for 7 the night prior. The table was situated indoors which we found perfect since we wanted to talk to each other and enjoy a drink during dinner. There were only 2 reserved tables inside the air conditioned room and social distancing was observed which we commend. However, once the other customers’ table was filled, the noise in the room grew and it made us uneasy. They were screaming and were much louder than the music being played. We politely asked one of the waiters to ask them to lessen the noise to which his reply was, ā€œHindi po pwede kasi bar po ā€˜to eh. Pag bar po maingay talaga. Wala pong magagawa.ā€ We understand the noise that accumulates during a night out but the noise the other table was making was already too loud. It was much louder than the customers from the tables outside; that it was barbaric and sounded as if they were out drinking on the streets. They were screaming to one another. To continue, we adjusted instead and we asked to be moved outside where it wasn’t as noisy. The waiters did not do anything or even try to talk to the noisy table. We were disappointed that no ounce of service or help was given to us. We all went outside instead and stayed on one of the free tables and decided to stay there while we finished our drinks. One of the waiters came to us to tell us that we couldn’t stay outside but we explained that we had no choice. We also noticed that the waiters and (presumably) the manager were looking at us from the inside and talking to themselves instead of talking to us.

Unhappy with the service, we chose to leave. We asked for the bill and I gave my PWD card. When they handed us our bill, we noticed that they discounted an order different from mine, and that dish was much cheaper than the one I ordered. The manager also told me she would take a picture of my PWD card which I found unusual. My consent was not asked for. Nonetheless, we wanted to leave as soon as possible. My other friend offered to pay with his credit card. We thought all was well but there was a problem with the restaurant’s terminal that caused his card to be charged TWICE the amount. There was no receipt and he insisted on a refund for his card. The manager explained to my friend what was happening and continuously negated him, making the explanation much more confusing. My friend also does not speak nor understand Tagalog but the manager continued to explain to him like so. Afterwards, she charged him with cash and told him to call the bank himself to ask for a reversal. He was charged THRICE the amount. This is not usually what is supposed to happen. The reversal is done on the merchant’s end and not the consumer. The problem rooted from the terminal, therefore the restaurant should have handled all banking issues on their end.

My friends and I can all agree that better management could have prevented any of these mishaps...

We were invited recently to a celebration here at The Nautilus Whiskey Bar. Place is good. Overlooking parts of Quezon City, parking is big, safe and guarded, guards are courteous, staff and waiters are courteous, food was good, serving is good enough, well except for the coffee jelly, I won't recommend it. It's at Sgt. Esguerra Quezon City. The building's elevator serves 8 (eight) floors only, and you need to take the stairs going to this bar. Food price is good enough as to its serving. It's a good place to unwind or at least relax after a long day with friends or officemates or even with a date. But at that time we visited, as to how much we enjoyed the mood, the soft music being played, plus the rooftop ambience, it was ruined by some not-so-great-standup-comedians (as they call themselves). They don't even sing well. Sorry. I hope The Nautilus Whiskey Bar maitains its elegance and pleasing ambiance by not getting or having those not-funny-irritating-standup-comedians. You are a "whiskey bar", which has a different crowd compared to comedy bars. Well, it's our first time I guess. But honestly, that part was a big turnoff. Unless you are shifting to a "comedy bar", then better announce it to gather a different type of crowd. Not all customers want noise all the time. Overall, we still enjoyed your food, your service and the ambiance. Except...

You can order both at nautilus bar and Okujo restaurant. You have the choice of eating alfresco, just beware that the bar is for smoking too. It was quite early when we went there so we have didn't have problem about the smoking. And with the intermittent rains just be ready to move if you if you don't want to get wet.

The food is OK. The ramen was good. But the steak we didn't like the white sauce. I don't know about you but the sauce is better for spaghetti. And it would be good if the sauce is on the side. Then you'd have the choice if you want it on your steak or not.

The mango kani salad is good also. Although you can make one at home if you want to have it because the ingredients are very simple: cucumber and carrots thinly sliced, lettuce topped with kewpie mayo and ripe mango to add...
