A Kare-Kare Delight at Tres Cuisine, SM North EDSA My Rating: ★★★★☆ We recently had the pleasure of dining at Tres Cuisine, the specialty restaurant for Kare-Kare lovers at SM North EDSA. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, providing a comfortable setting for a delightful meal. Now, let's talk about their specialty dish, Kare-Kare. Tres Cuisine's Kare-Kare is a standout dish that truly showcases the richness of Filipino cuisine. The tender wagyu beef swimming in a thick, peanut-based sauce were a delight to the senses. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. The accompanying bagoong (shrimp paste) complemented the Kare-Kare perfectly, adding a savory and slightly salty touch to the dish. The serving size was generous, making it perfect for sharing with family or friends. Aside from the Kare-Kare, Tres Cuisine also offers a variety of other Filipino favorites on their menu. Their adobo, sinigang, and crispy pata were equally satisfying and well-prepared, highlighting the chef's skill and attention to detail. The service at Tres Cuisine was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and readily offered recommendations. The only reason I didn't give a full five-star rating is that the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours, leading to slightly longer waiting times. However, the delicious food and warm ambiance more than made up for it. Overall, if you're a fan of Kare-Kare and looking for an authentic Filipino dining experience, Tres Cuisine at SM North EDSA is definitely worth a visit. I'll be coming back for more of their delightful Kare-Kare and exploring the rest of their enticing menu.

Went earlier here for lunch. The ambiance was like your typical old fashion filipino room. It was very busy around noon hours so expect to have waiting time coming here. Luckily we were just early enough to be first in line already. After picking out the food we ordered, they already escorted us to our table and provided cold water immediately while waiting. The serving of food was actually quick compared to the number of menu items we ordered. Like 15-20 minutes or so. The food delivered was presented in a unique way like the sisig flowers hung like leaves of a plant, a crispy pata volcano oozing with kare kare lava sauce, and a whole fried chicken just sitting upright. Some other dishes we ordered were the grilled (bulgogi) bicol express, which was fantastic by the way with their unique gata sauce, and kaldereta chicken wings, which also has a unique twist. Even the rice tasted great there especially their best selling Sisig rice with bone marrow. I would have loved it if the bone marrow actually had more marrow but it was still a nice complement. The staff were very friendly. They even opted to take a picture of us while we were taking selfies. Service was very quick like asking for refills of water and they had pleasant attitudes. Overall, if you want to try unique filipino cuisine, this restaurant is one of the must-tries!

If this is the “Tres” before the pandemic I might have given it a 5-star but since the renovation, we thought it has new management the staff said it’s still the same tho we felt it was different. The location is still the same, but the interior is now modern like other restaurants, it’s better but it cost them to have higher pricing (maybe because of inflation too). Comparing it to the old one, the staff now is not attentive enough, we ordered two sago’t gulaman but the second order came when we were almost done eating. Already asked to cancel it but they still served it even if we’re done. FOOD - been eating kare-kare here since forever but now it’s never the same, the nuts on every table are no longer available (which makes it taste better), the baby pusit is not fresh, it tastes like something else, their gising-gising before was sigarilyas but now it’s sitaw, the food tastes different. We were so hungry and missing Tres but very disappointed and just finish the food so it does not go to waste. Might not come back, with their pricing now there's a lot better.
