Laobeijing San Juan branch is a Chinese Restaurant located in the 2nd Floor of TNA Bldg, J. Abad Santos St , beside Gorilla Garage.
They offer authentic Chinese dishes for a chines meal experience, and the ambience is okay.
In the interior, you see the portrait of masks used in Peking Opera, and a Chinese written character hanging in the ceiling maybe the food dishes since I can't read and understand any.
I ordered native Chinese Dan Dan Noodles, which is a spicy noodle with soft pork meat, some pieces of peanuts and Kailan (closer resemblance to Pechay) leaves.
For the snacks, I ordered Roujiamo, which is a Chinese bun (2 pieces per order) containing shredded pork meat pieces with chopped green chili and a coriander pieces).
For the tea, I ordered a Tieguanyin (dried leave Oolong), using tea pouches as a digestive drink.
It was delicious. I may come back to test exclusive foreign (non-local) dishes.
To get in there, either ride an elevator or go upstairs from the guard on duty.
I also ordered Green Tea Yunyang Noodle. It is organic because there's no meat involved, but you may get disappointed as it is a noodle with lots of Soy Sauce mixed with sesame, chili, and vinegar.
Ganban Mian is a healthy cold noodle. It contains bean sprout, carrots, and coriander, with a separate salty peanut sauce.

They were also quite attentive and while the Xiao Long Bao wasn't served with shredded ginger when it was brought to our table, the staff promptly attended to our request when we asked for it.
Apart from the original xiao long bao, we ordered hot and sour soup, braised beef and yangzhou chao fan. We loved how everything tasted. The hot and sour soup had a unique taste to it compared to what's served most restaurants, maybe because of the wansoy. Whatever it is, we'll order this again next time we go.
The photos hanging on the wall were interesting to look at and the music played in the background was in Chinese which made it feel like you're eating in an authentic Chinese restaurant.
We were also prepared to pay in cash but we were pleasantly surprised that they also accepted credit cards which makes swinging by for a quick xiao long bao impulse treat easier. Will definitely...
Read moreCraved for noodle soup and dimsum. Laobeijing has just opened their branch in San Juan. The place is roomy and ideal for small gatherings with the amigas (can seat about 50 persons). I tried their best-sellers.
Beef Noodle in Chili Oil (Php168) The broth lacks depth, and I think thin noodles would have been better than thick ones. The beef, however, is very tender. The taste of this dish is all in the beef.
Xiao Long Bao (Php82) Its meat and soup are just enough to satisfy my craving. It's not Din Tai Fung level, but at least I don't have to go to the mall for my xiao...
