Marelle's Restaurant & Bar - Giftshop — Restaurant in San Juan

After being on the road for a few weeks now, this restaurant has been our absolute favourite so far. Firstly the service is really amazing, all the staff greeted us (including the chefs) each night, and our water was constantly topped up without us asking.

The food is the closest thing you can get to a home cooked meal, and we mean that as the ultimate complement. We were left completely satisfied after each meal, and therefore kept returning for our entire stay here in Siquijor. We ate; chicken burger, pork schnitzel, chicken adobo and grilled chicken. Which were all delicious, and also a very fair serving size. Seriously can’t stress enough how much we enjoyed the food here. Heaps of variety too!

The seashell museum is also pretty interesting to check out whilst you’re waiting for your meal.

Honestly, we don’t really understand the positive reviews. Compared to other places on the island, the prices here are quite high, but unfortunately, the quality doesn’t match up.

My partner ordered a hot dog, but the bread was dry, and the sausage was really small. I went for the cordon bleu, which is supposed to be their signature dish. At first, they brought mashed potatoes instead of fries, but at least they corrected it quickly. However, the dish itself was disappointing—the flavor was bland, there was barely any cheese, and the chicken was quite dry. Definitely not the best cordon bleu I’ve had, not even close.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant near Cliff Garden. The staff was incredibly accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, who graciously gave us a tour of the nearby Con Museum—a unique and fascinating attraction, especially for shell enthusiasts.

The food here is top-notch, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing (serving 2-3 people), and every dish we tried was delicious. If you're looking for a great place that combines excellent food and entertainment, this is a must-visit.
