UCC Cafe Terrace — Restaurant in San Juan

Really Disappointing, and most likely with food safety issues as well.

Context: My order was given to a different customer at the back.

I can hear the server mention what food it was while it was given to the customer.

Initially I thought the other customer and I just have the same order so I did not make a fuss about it even though my wife and I were the first one to come and order. Yun customer din naman kasi diyan wala naman din sinasabi mali ang natangap na order.

All along I thought my food will just arrive at the same time with my wife.

2-3 mins later, server must have realized her mistake when my wife’s food arrived and mine didn’t. I can also hear the server immediately told the customer at the back to “stop” as he was given the wrong order.

To be frank, I did not know if the customer at the back had already eaten some portion but the server went to their kitchen, and 1-2 mins later. My order arrived.

My mistake was not scrutinizing this immediately and complain.

At the back of my mind, I thought UCC ito eh, di naman siguro iseserve sa akin ng ginalaw na. So I just ate it na lang.

Still I have this hunch, since medyo matagal din yun food nasa customer.

So when we were about to check out, I just asked the staff if hindi naman nakain yun supposedly order ko.

The answer made my heart sank, because the staff said they cooked the food again and threw the one served to the other customer. I knew there and then that it was a lie.

2 mins to cook the food again when the original waiting time was 25 mins?? The food served to me wasn’t even warm.

I was just expecting a simple answer of, no po di niya ginalaw. Assurance lang actually hinahanap ko, but the response end up becoming more unbelievable.

I don’t want to make a scene in public so I just accepted the answer but deep inside naiinis na ako.

Now I am having doubts if kinain talaga ng customer at nag rearrange lang sila sa loob ng kitchen.

Will never go back here again as I already don't trust the establishment.

Especially with many reviews here already complaining about the staff...

UCC Cafe Terrace is an amazing coffee shop in the heart of San Juan.

The signature coffee is consistent and is still the knockout out of their menu, and when we usually order clubhouse sandwiches during a merienda session, we opted to try the kani salad this time around.

It was very delightful, the portions are reasonable and the kani used was of high quality. The prices are quite high, but it was definitely worth it.

The cafe ambiance was just right, there was enough sunlight on every part of the cafe, and it is cozy enough to bring a book or a work laptop to study and review.

The only lackluster part of the ambiance was that the chairs were already tattered and showing age of use.

The actual town plaza was underwhelming though, so you only go here if you have actual business in the space. Overall a delightful afternoon spent, and is always...
