2.8/5 ~3/5
(Best to Worst)
Experience-Atmosphere ~ It has an expensive feeling restaurant. Best for lunch or dinner date as the atmosphere makes it... more unforgettable than the average restaurant. That being said, its not supposed to be a very high end restaurant. 4/5
Service ~ decent. You have to go through this process of sitting to wait for a table and pay the meal before sitting to eat. That being said, it maybe increase the "high-end restaurant" vibe but on-the-other-end it might show a lack of trust. I did bring an elderly and we were treated the same so thats a huge plus. Still, to me it feels more of a student project more than an actual restaurant. Another thing was that there was no wait, so although there was no wait it still took a while. There was a lot of employees that lack experience. Still its around a 3-4/5. Take a 3.5/5.
Food ~ a 3. Decent taste though salty. I picked the regular hamburger, given that the menu is limited, and thought "since less option it means they specialize in this style." Umm... no. The hamburger taste salty and oily. Its not those melt in the mouth beef and its also just ground beef and salt in a form of a cylinder. Nothing ground breaking. The demi-glaze is actually nice. But its addition with the beef adds a heavy emphasis on saltyness. Need a bit of a lighter balance. Miso soup is okay. Water-down taste but I expect that they bought a packet instead of making using fermented bean. And everything is usual. To compare the beef... it taste like pepper lunch without their garlic sauces.
Price ~ horrible pricing. Again... it seems high end without being high end. An identity crisis of what it should be. Pricing for 3 hamburgers at 700+ (if i remember) is just ridiculous. Just eat pepper lunch. Its the same except both cheaper and a not a fancy experience. Must give it a 1. Thought i must admit i didn't try the other ones yet which supposed to be better.
All in all. Though atmosphere is important, pricing and taste is more. Given that the price is high without its justification of its taste and the very strict policy... it has to be a 3/5. Don't go here unless a) for experiences like i did or b) for dates. But expect a decent...

First things first — cash, GCash, or bank transfer only, folks. And yep, pay before you order. No pay, no play.
Now, onto the good stuff. Unli rice and free miso soup are part of the deal — major plus points for the heavy eaters out there. Just don’t expect much from the miso though; it’s your basic soup, nothing fancy floating around. It does the job, but won’t win any awards.
A cool touch: they serve you a raw egg (one per person) to mix with your rice — very legit Japanese vibes. Staff also take their time to walk you through the sauces and how to properly enjoy your meal. Love the little tutorial moment.
As for the food: • Beef tongue? Super chewy. If jaw workouts aren’t your thing, maybe skip this one. • Beef tongue hamburg? Way better. Properly cooked, juicy, and easy to eat. Highly recommend this over the tongue alone. • Regular hamburg? Solid. Grilled nicely, beef flavor on point.
The sauce they give is awesome — slight kick of spice that ties everything together. If you’re feeling cheesy, you can add cheese for an extra ₱60 (personally would’ve loved it if cheese was free but hey, can’t win ’em all).
Special shoutout to the rice — real Japanese rice, super tasty. Honestly, I could just inhale bowls of that alone.
Heads up: • Seating is tight. If you don’t wanna line up like you’re auditioning for a drama, come after lunch rush or just before dinner. • Don’t overstay your welcome. No one’s gonna shove you out the door, but like a real Japanese joint, the unspoken rule is: eat, appreciate, and make way for the next hungry soul.
Overall: Yoshi is a no-frills, meat-and-rice paradise. You come here for good beef, endless rice, and a quick Japanese-style chow down. Not a place for slow lunches or hangouts, but definitely a must-visit if you’re craving a legit...
Read moreI tried Hamburg Yoshi today and it was overall good! I ordered the 795php set (2 beef tongue + 1 regular patty) with extra cheese. A lot of the other items are unavailable.
We came at 9:00pm and surprisingly there was no line. Got seated right away. We were the only customers.
Their placemat has the instructions and QR code on how to enjoy your meal so was able to review while waiting for our meal.
Food: Loved the smoky flavor of the patties, it was like eating steak in patty form. Very different from the Filipino burger steak or salisbury steak with gravy. After trying both patties, the difference is that the beef tongue was flavorful (beefy) but leaner. While the regular patty has a milder beef flavor but juicier. Sides were average for typical japanese izakaya pickled veggies and miso soup. Demi-glace sauce provides a good tangy/acidic balance to the richness of the beef. Seasoning were also very unique, but I preferred not using these since i like the flavor of the patties. It also comes with a complementary egg for an added variety on how you can enjoy your rice/patty.
Ambiance: Traditional izakaya style japanese similiar to ramen bar setups. This is not suited for large groups who intend to stay and catchup (there is a 1-hour time limit). But okay for solo or couple dining. Airconditioning was okay. Not hot or too cold. I was even wearing a hoodie.
Service: Serving time was okay. We received our plates and side dishes immediately after being seated. Then 10-15mins for our patties to be served since it will be grilled first. Crew also kept topping up my rice refill when it is almost finished which is a plus.(Yes the rice is refillable and free)
For improvement: I hope they can add Wakame and tofu cubes to the Miso soup. And increase the complementary egg from 1 to 2 per set since there are...
