Objectively one of our worst dining experiences because even though the food was good, the service and management was very problematic.
We had a reservation on my mother’s birthday and Christmas Eve by the way.
We were misled to pay thousands of pesos for ONE of the dishes they recommended last minute (since there were two of the similar name on the menu). The other dishes we ordered in advance did not even cost nearly the same amount.
We agreed on one serving, and they increased it to 1.7 without informing us first, which made us extra surprised when we saw the bill after eating.
They also had a 20% off promo for the day which they didn’t automatically apply to the bill. One of the servers said it was, but we checked the menu and had to stand up from our table to ask again.
Some other comments: Liquids from our takeout spilled since they only used tin foil, no tupperwares. Also only one server wrapped our food out in the middle of the restaurant which took a while. Tipping wasn’t available when paying through card. We would have left one for the servers of our table at least. To-go cup had a leak and took a long time to be replaced Iced coffee took a long time to serve. I think they had to get it from a lower floor since I saw a server take multiple elevators carrying a drink. If I knew they had to go through that hassle then I would not have ordered The usual soda options is unreasonably priced at ₱200+ and is probably not refillable Restaurant was too cold when we ate there for dinner and breakfast
However, our dining experience during breakfast was much better. We would consider eating there again if the service improved.
I just do not recommend making a reservation with them for special occasions any time soon if they do not address their issues being greedy, inconsiderate, and...
Read moreUpon a recommendation from a friend, my family headed out to Origine to try out their unique take on Spanish cuisine. Tucked away on the first floor of the Britany Hotel BGC, at first glance the restaurant seemed out of place for a hotel with the exposed exhaust & aircon ducts and the vast dining layout. Rather impressive however, was the open kitchen design which showcased the chefs hard at work cooking up the Manila's next best Spanish dishes!
For our appetizers, we ordered a wide range of dishes from Pulpo y Patatas to the traditional Gambas (Shrimps), Pintxos and croquettes. The standout winners for us were the delicious chorizo, caramelized onion, and fried brie cheese Pintxos and the blue cheese croquettes, certainly a refreshing take on the ordinarily overlooked Spanish appetizers.
For entrees, we had the Cachopo (think of a beef wellington with cheese), Cochinillo, and Paella Mariscos (shrimp and squid). All three were well seasoned and cooked to perfection!
Lastly, for desserts we ordered the Arroz con Leche (topped with cinammon), Chocolate X, and the Crema de Catalana. An amazing end note for our dinner, all three desserts were fantastic!
In addition to the wonderful culinary experience, I must commend the kitchen and waitstaff for their attentiveness, professionalism, and...
Read moreHonest Review: I took advantage of the Unionbank promo for 50% off on the breakfast buffet. It was just okay. Nothing to complain about but also nothing special. You basically get what you pay for so don’t expect too much. Personally, I wouldn’t pay the full price for the quality of the food.
What stood out though was the staff. Everyone was pleasant, friendly, and always smiling which made the experience feel very welcoming.
We went on a weekday so it wasn’t crowded which was nice. If I were to spend ₱1,300 for a breakfast buffet, I’d definitely go to Spice Café at City Garden Grand Hotel instead. They still offer the best breakfast buffet experience...
