This was "previously" one of our favorite korean barbecue places, stressing on the "previously".
Jinjoo was once a "Premium" korean barbecue experience because it wasn't an unli/ buffet experience, you would expect that the meat they serve is top notch and offers great service, but this was no longer the case.
It took 3 separate occassions of giving jinjoo a chance before writing this review and it seems they can no longer provide the service we longed for back then. The only positive thing right now with Jinjoo is that they are pet friendly and they allow pet inside their restaurant. For the food, we always order the woo samgyup as we love eating high quality beef and back then their beef is super meaty unlike what they serve nowadays which is full of fat (you can check the images provided) back then they also serve 9-10 side dishes which pales in comparison to what they serve now which is only 5. Samgyupsalamat offers better meat have good side dishes even while having unli meat refills.
As for the service, don't visit the store on weekends as you will have a hard time asking for refills. It just so happen that we ate during weekday dinner and the store wasn't busy at all so we got somewhat a good service, but on the 2 separate occassions that we dined during the weekend dinner, you will need to wait around 5-10 minutes before having your side dishes and lettuce refilled and only give you around 6-8 pieces of kimchi and 5-7 pieces of lettuce which crushes your momentum when you're trying to enjoy the food.
I guess the old Jinjoo is just a memory for us because we will never be dining on...
Read moreWe came across Jin Joo a couple weeks ago before they were open and were eager to try a new Korean grill... We should have gone to our old favorite instead as this one disappointed.
The service is slow and does not know the menu. We had to ask 3 times to have the floor around our table cleaned. Everytime we asked for a refill of the sides they were slow in delivering.
The Japchae was supposed to be beef in the menu but came out as pork, when we asked about this the server told us it was supposed to be pork and we had to show him the menu before they took it away to "make a new one". The new one turned out to be the old one with the pork picked out, beef added, and fried again so all the veggies were now over cooked. The beef was stringy, fatty, and bad quality. The dish was also overly sweet.
The BBQ pork was good, though a little sweet. And the fresh lemonade was good and a nice big size. Sadly these 2 small good things can not save our experience and we are not...
Read moreThe sides were good 3/5 and we've tried about a dozen Korean BBQ places. The variety is good but some would be better chilled or warm. The 8 flavor bacon is good in theory but in execution. It's an electric grill so it takes longer than normal and is actually smokeless. Problems are that the flavors were focused on variety and not in being complimentary. I don't know why there is no soy sauce or salt, all the salt is only in the samgyupsal sauce. Sweet sauce beside it. The cheesey dug galbi ribs is not what it looks like. Check the pix and the flavors. Least liked in the experience. So the rice part was good but the ribs is weird because it's not like many saucy ribs but with mild flavored cheese. I think with a regular BBQ it would have been better then trying the special 8 flavor one or the cheesey ribs and rice because the...
